Title: New toy.
Post by: Amigo on 04 February 2012, 22:05:45

Seller wanted 2 grand for it. A mate was round lastnight & told me how desperate for money the seller was. I was'nt really after one but i said to text him for minimum price. He texted back £1400 not a penny less. I had a grand in the drawer & about £200 in my pocket so not enough for an instant deal. We texted back £800 saying take it or leave it that's all i've got...he bit so the deal was done. Plenty of T&T.
Phoned the insurance this morning & was quoted £1600!!!!!! Phoned Adrian Flux, told them i'd been quoted £860 & they came in at £710 with breakdown cover, homestart etc.
It's only the 2.5 GTST single turbo rwd auto but in sport mode it will smoke the rears if you kickdown on a dry road @ 50mph. Unlimited rwd playtime. I've never driven such a responsive auto. The kickdown is savage.

I'm still not really into the Jap power scene. I'll enjoy it for a couple of months or so then punt it out again. Still looking for a more sensible VW/Audi/Volvo etc. but i was in the right place at the right time!!!! 8)

That's a bit different from the MX5  :)

Is it my eyes or is the front alloy a different style to the rear?

;D Johnny at BookaTrack calls cars like this "turbo nutter barges" - usually found hammering down the straights and then flying off or going very slowly at the corners on trackdays.. (Not always, of course)

If I had the room & money for a collection of cars I'd absolutely have an R34 GTR in Bayside Blue in it.

Its there 'cos your bound to lose the arse end whereby you can then see which ditch you're headed for ;D

If you don't skip the arse end out then you simply should'nt have it in the first place. Trouble is the weather's been frozen or slush since i've had the car. Just a kickdown in slow with o/d on is a handful, in sport mode or even auto forget it.

Waiting for a nice dry day so i can really give it some pillock!!!! :D
