Title: Tyres ... Different size Front And Rear
Post by: Proz on 10 February 2012, 19:33:10
My car currently has 215/55/16's all round .

Im looking to replace the rears with the same make as the fronts but can only find 225's
Cant seem to find them in 215's

So could i legally have 215's on the front and 225's on the rear ??
I dont see why not  :-\

Plenty of cars have bigger tyres on the rear to the front,so I dont see why not.

Its not a problem having different sizes, aslong as there not on the same axle...

I myself have 225/40/18 on the front and 255/35/18 on the rears...

yeah mine are like that but what you have to decide is what size spare wheel you going to have.

I took my spare wheel out, and replaced it with one of them tyre foam things...  worked a treat when i got a puncture, they say you can't re-use a tyre after you inflate it with the foam, but you can, it just needs a damn good cleaning afterwards...  and a understanding tyre fitter..   :y

yeah they good, ive used it a few times, had it fitted to the side compartment, but with my breakdown cover has tyers on it so with in 15-20 minutes can get new tyre fitted. before had it fitted and had cover had front tyer size in as spare but was always the back tyer that got a puncture. had to use then cans of foam.
