Title: Clutch smell
Post by: Johnny English on 14 February 2012, 11:47:52
Hi all,

one of my friends is struggling a smaller problem namely when he run uphill with full of passangers there was very strong clutch smell in the cabin. In all of other case the iron runs smoothly without any smell. MV6 automata, oil level is right everywhere, gear works properly with no click or clutch-sliding.

Any advice please!   Thx       Laszlo

To me it sounds as though the clutch is slipping when under pressure.

Automatic ?  If so no clutch to smell mate - probably ATF knackered or level low.  HTH  ;)

I don't know for automatic transmission but if there is an access to check color and smell of ATF try this first. Should smell like burned too if he can smell it in a cabin. Just change the ATP I hope?
