Title: Wanted @ a reasonable price working CCR 2006
Post by: JDX on 15 February 2012, 11:30:11
Hello to everyone.
New member JDX here.
Having purchased my new car I am disappointed with the electrical problems Im having with it from the outset. I have fixed the central door locking & the sunroof & the coolant level warning (when the coolant level is good) but have had no success so far with the cd player not working. Thanks to Dave @ DND for his advice - it seems my unit is u/s - the carriage is jammed & cannot be repaired. Ideally, I do not want to change the look of the centre console by putting in a different type of unit, so Im hoping to locate a replacement CCR2006. Please let me know.....thanks.

No idea - stereo has come in here for repair with a jammed mech but is currently BOSE enabled.

I`ve pointed the guy at this website, (good to see he joined up) but it may be worth anyone with a solution for him to talk through about identifying whether his car is actually BOSE fitted or not, and does not simply have a "wrong" head fitted, as I am aware that this is a new vehicle to him.

Look after him though, nice guy to deal with.

Yep. Would be a good idea for the OP to have a look and check that the car has Bose amp & speakers. :y

Im currently on hold to Vauxhall customer care (30 minutes now!) to try to establish if the car was supplied with the Bose system initially. This may take some time ;).............

Read your PM`s. I`ve explained how to ascertain whether Bose is fitted :y

Give up with that one - far quicker to look on the rear shelf and see if there are two subwoofers fitted.

Speakers fitted = BOSE
No Speakers = far more options now open to you

I`m a muppet ! Should have mentioned this   :-X

If anyone has a working CDC3 or lower changer 2006/2008 section that works, it may be far easier to swap over the mech and vertical board as the rest of the head unit is ok

I did read my pm's RobG & am just uploading some pictures which I will post shortly. What I can tell you now is that when I turned the stereo on it said"BOSE STEREO" on the dashboard display - is that a clear indication of it being fitted? Also, I have the original car pass (credit card size card with vin no etc) which says on the line:
Radio Type/Code = 0206/****.
The car is registered 04/09/02 2.2 litre diesel estate - 1 previous owner, 49000 miles......

The message on the display is what I have also taken it from, but you will need to make sure that it is the original stereo to the vehicle as a BOSE stereo will run a non-BOSE system, but not vice-versa.

Checking the rear shelf for speakers is the quick way to tell.

As Dave says, quick, simple & definitive :)

As dave says, look in the boot.  On the left hand side of the boot, there is a vertical panel about the size of an A4 sheet of paper. Turn the 2 knobs a quauter turn and the panel will open and drop down...

If you see a speaker mounted in a black plastic casing, you've got a Bose system.
If you see a handy cubby hole for storing crap, you don't have Bose.

Simples.  :y

Sorry for the slow response - the car is parked up the road because it won't fit on the drive (please don't!!) so Im back & forth.
I cannot find anything that suggests a Bose system is fitted & I therefore now think it is not.
Jimbob: Thank you, that is kind of you.The registration no now is .
Albs: Thank you also. I don't wish to put anyone to any trouble but if you are passing, I am in Halstead Essex.

twiglet: Sorry, I have just spotted your message. Yes, I have looked in the cargo/boot area & cannot see a speaker in a black plastic casing so I think it is unlikely that the car is fitted with the Bose system. (Jimbob is somehow checking records to establish the original spec of the car) Ho hum! It's a little disappointing that there is no Bose sound but its not the end of the world & after all this is resolved I will be happy to simply have something to play CD's on.
