Title: now what!!! cam belt.
Post by: footloose on 17 February 2012, 18:52:02
I have just changed the cam belt on my omega 3lt yr 2000. After checking the belt and timing marks several times i reassembled the engine bits to find that when i tried to start it the engine turns over ok but dosn't seem to fire up i tried several times. I have checked all the connectors vaccuum pipes etc. Still no joy. so. i dismantled the lot again double checked every thing and it all seemed ok. i have now reassembled and tried to start again. not a pop.
anyone have any ideas. It was all working ok before i started.  :'( :'(

Fuel is there. I will check the spark plugs tomorrow morning. I see where you are, maybe i have disturbed something when i removed the plenum. i'll let you know what i find in the morning.
Thanks for your reply.

At last i have found the problem, The connector to the injectors was comming adrift bit hard to see down in the dark. It didn't look right so i just pushed it together and it clicked into place.
I must hav disloged it when i was messing about with the pipes that connect to the back of the plenum. Any way i started the engine and runs great.
Thanks for the help you guys.Much appreciated.
I am no expert but i'm learning fast. :y :y

Top job on finding that mate... nice one...  treat yourself to a pint with the money you saved doing all that yourself, compared to a dealer!! :y
