I know they make a noise, which may be to your taste or not, but being stainless it should last forever.

Question is, do they make any difference to the fuel economy?

I have one fitted to my Omega and they are quite a bit noisier
They do not really affect fuel economy in my experience

You can pretty much have them built to your own spec. Number and size of silencers, bore of pipe, etc.

have you had it custom made...

or is it an off the shelf exhaust??

if custom made have you asked to keep the middle boxes? or let them make it themselves....

because on my 2.5cdx i removed them & yeah nice & throaty but seemed to loose mid range grunt & with less back pressure did drink the fuel alot more on the motorway....

some "powerflow" regestered outlets know exsactly what there doing but "some" havent a rather clue!!

the old "louder = more power = faster" approch to making an exhaust....

any idea of design?
duel pipes threw system?
bore size?
Y pipe into a single system by cats?
just a silencer?
2 mid boxes?

Or ive just realised are you thinking of having one fitted or made up?? 

if made right it should be less restrictive give u a slight bhp gain of 1-2bhp & the engine doesnt have to work as hard to blow gasses threw system so be slightly better on fuel, but if made wrong has an opposite effect & without enough backpressure sucks the fuel threw engine...

best option would be buy a stainless off the shelf exhaust thats been proven & tested for thoes exsact problums...
"magniflow" "serbring" "janspeed" all exspensive at around £400 but worth it tho :y

would you guys recommend anywhere to make an exhaust my neighbour has a 2.2cdx auto its a minter needs a standard exhaust in stainless doesnt want power noise more fuel consumption just standard spec exhaust in stainless any ideas  ;)

That's a lot of info, many thanks

I have one on my 3.0 (which is sold to a VERY nice member :y), came with car but was wondering whether to move it onto my new mig. With the amount of agro to swap, the unknown as to spec & if it will fit a 3.2, and the general consensus that the one on my new one is about as good as it gets I think i'll pass.

Useful info for if I need one in the future tho

Hi the 3.2 has 2 cats per side so 4x total a pre cat & main per bank,

so yes will fit but you will need to cut off the 90' bends where it fitted to your old 3.0 & shorten them by roughly 40cm & either have the ends flaired to fit the standard system or fit flange ends as i calnt rem what is on the 3.2 system... if fitting flange ends have them tig welded with stainless wire so they dont rust threw...

3.2 system is exactly the same as the 3.0 system after the flanges at the end of the cat pipes.

Assuming the stainless install hasn't been bodged by hacking about the cat pipes it should just bolt on.

Sadly, it seems a lot of stainless systems aren't fitted with flanges.
