Title: stereo gone to safe after non related work on car
Post by: Impact Pete on 21 February 2012, 20:09:31
Ok, cleaned all the breathing system out today and un clipped the MAF, no wires have been shorting and no spanners were near the battery terminals.

So how can my stereo go to safe?

I was not given the code either when I bought the car 4 years ago. >:(

Low battery voltage could do it.

Model number of stereo would assist me in pointing you in the right direction to get your code back

Given the car model, I'm guessing a ccr2006 is the most likely candidate...

I think it is, the wife has the car today so not completely sure but the pic looks right.
It has got a loose front non working volume pot(only works via steering wheel) so if I have to pay for a code break I guess now is the time for a repair unfortunately funds are low so may just have to live without.
