Title: more pc madness
Post by: jerry on 23 February 2012, 15:06:40
I was just telling the better half about the recent post on here about the reported case where a young lad's parents got called into school over a "racist incident" because her son asked a black/coloured lad if he came from Africa or not. She laughed and said she could top that as our neighbour had just told her about what had happened to her car mad 3 year old today at pre-school. Apparantly he had told his classroom assistant that he was getting a new Lewis Hamilton car. She asked him what colour Lewis Hamilton was, he said "black", thought for a bit longer then said "black and yellow" (because he was actually thinking about the colour of the toy car as its got a yellow stripe, not about mr Hamilton). Mum then got called in to discuss this "racist" remark!!FFS, even if he had been thinking about Lewis the person, could he or could he not be described as "black" as opposed to "white" (yes, I know that he is "mixed race" but you get the point surely)? :-\ >:(

Why did the classroom assistant feel it necessary to ask the child what colour Lewis Hamilton was?  ???

Maybe it was the classic pre-school sting to root out non-PC toddlers.  ;) ::) ::)

exactly Albs! Makes you think just how poor the training must be for people to (mis)interpret The Equalites Act etc like this-and more importantly get away with it! If I was mum Id make certain that my views on 1) the stupidity of the key workers actions and 2)the complete misinterpretation of the law by the keyworker were recorded alongside the record they made of the inncident!

I agree, there is no way on this earth that any 3 year old has any kind of comprehension of "racism"

This one sounds a bit simplistic to me, I think there may be more to it. Nevertheless, I am in no way defending the pc brigade.

Wasn't it Lewis who said "Is it because I'm BLACK?" He knows he's black, we knows he's black so what is the problem in refering to him as black?  >:(
Do these PC muppets look in a mirror and see neutral?  IDIOTS >:( ;D ;D
