Right, I have quite enjoyed my Omega diesel, but the bugger died on me whilst driving, became very sluggish - then just stopped.
RAC guy tried restarting, engine turns over but no joy. He did from what I saw quite a thorough check, and said he suspected it was the fuel pump.
The car has not since restarted. Once previously, the car failed to start when parked up, but stirred back into life shortly after, that was about 3 weeks ago.
I know these fuel pumps are costly, so grateful for your help in understanding if there may be a related issue causing this that can help my local garage troubleshoot in a logical way (i.e. crank sensor?), before saying its defo the fuel pump.

Needs proper checking. I'm afraid I don't have a huge amount of faith in RAC/AA diagnostics, especially as I've rfecently been told that they have 14 minutes from arrival on site to give that diagnosis :o
Could be a few things. Is the in tank pump working? If so then it's further up the system ;)
If you get completely stuck I can try and get down for a look for you, although I'm not sure when
