Title: omega 2.2 auto can not remove key from ignition switch

Good Morning Lads.
I am a new member and I hope someone can help me with my ignition problem.I cant remove the ignition key from the lock but if I disconect the battery the key then comes out no problem.There are no codes coming up and the car starts o.k.thanks for any help George.

Autobox needs to be in reverse to remove the key.Did the same myself!

If in "P" and key won`t come out,there is a microswitch under the gearlever gaiter that de-energises when ign. is switched off to allow for key removal, sounds like it`s knackered. Remove the cowling around the steering column and look for a little solenoid on the bottom of the lock cylinder. Remove the electrical connector from it and key should release. Leave said connector disconnected

mine needs to be in park to remove

As said, make sure if its an auto box its in park ;)
