Just a thought...car would overheat on motorway if it was water pump failing probably?

No fan stuck on...It heats up to the temp as normal and doesn't want to overheat. Temp is steady on motorway only interior heating is poor. Heater matrix is clean - done in september.

Omega General Help / Thermostat stuck open maybe?
« on: 26 January 2026, 18:00:18 »
Hello guys, my Omega developed strange temp gauge behaving few days ago. Temp raises from cold start without a problem, holds steady 85 deg as always on motorway for entire trip to work - 45 miles long and even when I stop at red light when I arrive into town. But when I take off from stop, twmp gaige drops a few degrees and then comes back to 85. Wayer pump was done a year and a half ago, together with belts and pulleys. Ibposted a link to short youtube video of mine for you to see what I mean.
Thanks in advanceStan

Yep, it worked fine. And just to report, it's rust free under all of the carpets, unlike my Omega was. First owner and from mediteranian part of country, no snow, no salt....and it shows

General Car Chat / Vectra b question
« on: 17 October 2025, 22:50:07 »
Hi guys, I bought a Vectra b as first car for my daughter. I still have some time to fix some minor issues, nothing major. I'd really like to remove all the carpets to check for any rust under, bit in order to do so, I need to remove front seats equiped with side airbags.
Will the airbag light turn on if I disconnect the battery while removing and reinstalling the seats?
Thanks in advance, Stan

Replaced both lower suspension arms and problem is fixed. Rear right side bush was badly torn and alowed movement when braking, as jb said. Geometry setup done again, I took poly bushes out of old parts and I'll leave it for some time in future.
Thanks for help

So the best option would be to go to mechanic or MOT place, whoever has the rollers where I could see braking force on wheels probably.

Omega General Help / Pulling when braking
« on: 13 September 2025, 10:51:51 »
Hi guys, I had a 'little" misshap last year...I hit a concrete barrier with front right side. The wheel got also hit and from then on car pulls to the right when braking. I did full geometry setup twice, replaced bushings preventively, suspension has no play anywhere. Drives straight and doesn't wonder on the road, no shaking, no wobble whatsoever.
I'm puzzled, what else should I look into? Should I replace front brake calipers in case right one is sticking or grabbing force is different?
Thanks in advance, Stan
