Omega General Help / Track Rod Ends

I have been having to get new, alternate, trackrod ends every year(MOT) at approx.5000 mile intervals.
ie. O/S 2009, N/S 2010, now O/S again.
Is this normal, and can anything be done to stop the problem?

General Car Chat / Re: Road Humps ruin Tyres

Which part is the BS?, because I could FEEL the damage happening, and I saw how all the tyres which had good even tread were shredded on the inside edges.
I sent two sets of bills with a complaint to our council but with three follow up letters over two years I have been ignored. Just Tyres Manager told ME that was the problem, and had given him extra business, and obviously it only affects cars with the same wheel spacing as Omega's. As for setup, I went to Motorcare in Bedford after the first set of tyres went west and paid for there super setup, but it didn't solve the problem.
Anyway if I line it up carefully I get over the humps without any problem now! My local garage where I get major repairs done said road humps give them plenty of work, 2 rear coil springs on mine last year and one actually broken in two!
Anyway after spending £580 in 3 years, I now have no problem! AlanV :) [smiley=smiley.gif]

General Car Chat / Road Humps ruin Tyres

I have solved a problem which has cost me money over the last 3/4 years. I live in an area where they won't spend on speed cameras but put in road humps.
I found that the inner edges of my tyres caught the humps edges and ground the tyres down to the canvas. This has cost me 2 sets of tyres in 4 years over 15k miles! Rather than stay at home, my local Just Tyres branch suggested that legally I coud reduce my tyre profile and changed my tyres from 205/65/R15 to 195/65/R15 and this would give me 10mm each side extra clearance. Its worked because after one year I have no problems with my tyres!! hope this helps someone .AlanV
