Omega General Help / Auto gearbox changes gear at higher revs when cold

I have a 2.2 2002 Omega with an auto box. When warm the car changes gear smoothly and at the correct revs. However when it is cold and first started up the change from 1st to second gear happens at 4500rpm. Is there a temperature compensator on the box to alter the pressure when the gear changes ie when the fluid is warm or cold. Obviously the gear oil is a different viscosity when warm. Or is this just a classic case of old oil that I need to change ? Any advice would be welcomed. Mark

Hi All, you seem like a very friendly bunch. Seems I may have a great time getting to know you guys !! Thanks for your help with the fault code reader. I am going this afternoon to pick my omega up. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of one again !! Beautiful cars to drive.

Hi Everyone, I am just purchasing my second Omega 2.2 CD 2002. Registered August 2002. Could one of you please tell me if this car is OBD2. I am looking to buy a AUTEL EU702 Vauxhall/ opel Code reader from GENDEN.CO.UK. If anyone could confirm this is the correct device for diagnosing engine problems it would be very much appreciated.
