Omega General Help / Re: cpl of probs?

Good news! It started this morning no probs (without the pedal) so that's put that one to bed.
The engine management light does come on with the ignition lights and goes out once vehicle has started.

Im used to giving my 2.7 diesel TX1 'hackney' cab a squirt with the pedal before I turn it over. I'll have to try n break the habit.......... ::)

Hey!

Ive just got my first omega 98 's' 2.5 V6 CDX Auto and Ive got an airbag light permanantly on on the dash any ideas?
Also it runs great and idles really quiet, no smoke or nuffin like that but it was a bit of a pig to start first thing this mornin. I'm wonderin if I gave it too much pedal before turning the key or is this a fault?????

Thanks

John

Hi people

I've just bought my first Omega yesterday and must say I'm over the moon with my purchase. It's an 'S' 1998 2.5 CDX V6 and I got it for £1295 from a dealer which seems awful cheap (to me at least) for the amount of car purchased. Loadsa toys on it.....
I'm gonna try and put some pics up on the appropriate thread.
Lookin forward to your advice.

Mike

I like that plain black grille on your car but Ive noticed the difference in bonett type. Can you get those grilles for pre facelift omegas and do they look as good?

Hi I'm a newbie Omega owner and I have a few pics of my nice, standard motor. It's a 1998 's' 2.5 V6 CDX with 114'000 on the clock , full service history and spankin condition.
I'm thinkin about a few mods. but not quite sure what yet. I like the alloy's as they are and I dont wanna go too mad and was thinkin about rear tints,  plain black grille and possibly colour coding trim and mirrors and maybe getting rid of those yellowy white bulbs and changing for legal ice white ones.......
Any suggestions brothaz?

Right, Ive checked the area where the pollen filter is and theres no water there. Ive pulled back carpet in front and sponged out about 1-2 litres from under the cushioned matting. I would say it's coming from the spot that Ronaldmcburger mentioned but as I said there was no trace of water. Ive hoover out all the dead leaves and crap that may have blocking the drain plug.
It rained last night and I used the car(with the carpet back to help dry out) and I can see NO signs of water coming in. So I'm really foxed on this. Suppose the only answer would be to have my missus sit in the car whilst I bladder it from all angles with the house pipe eh?

It is there rear footwell thats flooded but there is a very long thin damp patch of carpet in the front passenger footwell running along the sill which makes me think its running from the front area....
I'll test the pollen filter thingy and see how I go from there..

Many thanks

Ok so we've had some heavy rain the past couple of days but where I live there has been no flodding at all. I get's in my car this morning and there's a big pool of water collected in my rear passenger side footwell. Strangely enough I've only ever owned 2 vauxhalls in my life and I had this same exact same problem in my old cavelier estate. I never managed to sus where it was coming from. Any ideas guy's??????

P.s. Ive done very little driving in it the past couple of days so maybe its not coming from road spray???

I'm considering colour coding all of the black trim on my pre facelift omega. Has anyone here done this without adding a body kit? Is it worth the effort? Any pics or advice?
