Omega General Help / - Oil Smell

Hi

Just a bit of a scarebie now - I've been reading the FAQ's and read about the smell of burning oil.  The fact that it's in the FAQ means that it's a common problem I'm guessing... - I have this sympton so I am also guessing that I have this issue

Q - is there any other reason that I could smell the smell of hot oil? I have no oil leak.  I smell the smell after I get out of the car after about 30 minutes driving but not on motorways.
Q - is this a Vx only job or can I take it to my trusted decent garage?
Q - is this an expensive repair?
I have a 98 Omega 2.5 Tourer

Hey up all - can't believe I've found this site and hope that it is useful

I've owned several vauxhall's in the past - 2 x 2.2 cdxi's, 1 vectra 2.5 cdi and now this lurrrrvely 2.5 tourer autmoatic estate on an R plate.  I love this car... and had it 4 weeks now.

I have been spending time getting some of the circuits working such as the cigarette lighter's, air recycling system, and power steering system, had it fully serviced and replaced the front brake disk's and pads.

I just hope to get some good advice if I get stuck after examining my trusty haynes manual
