Thanks for the pointers guy's

Seemed I had other issues and after replacing faulty battery, rebuilt alternator, replace spilt o ring in plastic bits on intake, refitted hidded vac pipe which had come out.

Replaced afm with one I had spare from original 70mm amm. Well sensor the same and giod as gold now

Do have rocker cover oil slight leaks and other minor bits of interior trim to sort it is good as gold

Needs lsd but even likes a little drift lol

Tempted with v8 conversation but not allowed after s3 tfsi conversation in my vx220 turbo and race car

As per title purchased a 2001 2.6 v6 cdx on friday with 70k. Mot backup miles but error on after shortly after leaving for home.

As its effecting both banks any ideas on what to check or if it looks like worth returning car. Oh and intermittently has rev climb to 2k at idle when stopping for lights etc

Has the usual rocker cover leak although slight

When clearing the codes car ran rough for a short period of time

Will get carb / injector cleaner to check for leaks but nothing visable
Thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Suspension advice
« on: 08 September 2011, 10:24:29 »
Thanks for the further advice, have to agree keeping a level of comfort keeping as its used for family trips also and do love the way the current car takes all the bad roads without any issues.

I have super stiff setup on the track car and would not want to drive this far on the road!!!

Where is the best place to get the B4/Billy setup from?

What geo settings do peple use in general? Stock MV6 / elite is ther ea police spec?

Thanks again

Paul has already addressed the bushes with uprated items and rear donut changed so hopefully not much more to do there, did see the Eibach / Bilstein kit and thought it would be better than the Kw and other less know company kits

thanks for the advice, I would not think it would effect it but anything to consider as I tow the race car?

What is used for the self leveling xenons on the omega estate?

I will be keeping the car for a long time and really looking forward to even fewer mpg  ;D

Thanks again guys

Duncan

It is indeed the police spec one but had a good chat with Paul and 1 of the very few things to look at / fix short term is the current air rear dampers not doing their magic

Of course will have a quick look but longer term would like to refresh or replace with something a bit more sporty

Would of course be rude while towing the track car to Spa to not at least pop next door and do a few laps at the ring and get my sticker  :y track car is not road legal so cant go round  :-[

Omega General Help / Suspension advice
« on: 05 September 2011, 14:31:36 »
Currently have my 2.5 cdx estate (facelift) but decided to stick with the omega (selling my S3) and buying a 3.2 white one with some nice extras (hope to collect this week if possible)

No plans to sell this one and will run current engine setup until it requires a rebuild or convert to v8 (think RS4 or LS conversion) - done a few conversions over the years now (Renault 5 Turbo with audi tt conversion, vx220 turbo with astra vxr engine and box conversion and more recently my LA Gold (locost) race car converted to nissan 200sx (SR20DET) power.)

So the Omega will be my daily family drive, tow car and 1 thing I would like to review is the suspension setup

Notice there are a few kits from well know names but is there much experiance of them on here?

Oh both car estates

Any advice would be great as I know there are a few versions of oe kit but would also like to lower the car a little (not too much as still have the trailer to use)

Thanks

I would have thought your option would be shorter springs / aftermarket kit / different oe spec setup - starting to understand there are a few different versions for the omega of which some have the car sitting lower

General Car Chat / Well I was buying a nice omega estate this weekend
« on: 09 September 2011, 12:29:24 »
Well all was going well this week, had arranged to buy P6UL K omega estate in the for sale section (white special), deal done, changed my insurance over yesterday (admin fee and increase as mine is currently the 2.5 paid) and planned to collect this weekend arranged a lift there to collect sold my omega cheap which is due to be collected tonight
Only to get a text from Paul this afternoon saying he is keeping it, so has put me in a right pickle!!!!

I have no problem he has changed his mind but it’s the lack of communication and my good faith in that what was agreed was actually happening,  and now possibly have no car at all unless I let the guy down who has purchased mine (about to call him) and whichever way I do it having 2 admin fee charges and hopefully the extra premium back in full from insurance

I hate been messed about and why I a straight when I buy or sell anything, if you don’t want to sell something don’t

Strange how things change and had hoped to run the car for a year and complete the v8 conversion next winter but am that peed off don’t even want an omega now!!

Moderators could you update the advert to say it’s no longer for sale?

Rant over and back to work!!!

Waste of my time and money
