Thanks The Boy. Seems interesting, is there any way to check if the crank sensor is knackered?

Omega General Help / 2.2 Dti again!
« on: 16 June 2007, 12:21:40 »
Hi guys (again). Sure youve all read my posts over the last week or so. The car is still in limp mode and I ve had some good suggestions from you. Going to investigate today (been working away), Just to recap, I have codes P1590. P1335 and P0725. Ive had a few good suggestions ie, crank sensor etc but one thing is puzzling me (well, two now). If a sensor packs in is it generally knackered completely? I ask this because the car will always drive the first mile or so (when cold) perfectly - then the eml kicks in and back to limp mode? Makes me think either temperature or emmissions build up. Temp reading is fine. BUT! - after having this for over a week, I left work at midnight last Thursday night when he had that bad rain and after a few hundred yards I hit a deep puddle that must have drowned the engine (diesel so not too bad). Now when I got to the usual place where the eml kicks in and limp mode starts, as usual, the eml came on, but 3 or 4 seconds later it went off and I managed to drive the next 7 miles unrestricted before limp mode came back - first time that happened in over a week!!!
So my question is - is there anything underneath the car (wiring?) that could be loose. I mean do you guys know of any weak spots the car may have? Im thinking wiring so any suggestions? Got me wondering if the puddle I went through just moved something!

Cheers JasonH. You had any problems like this? Can the crank sensor be responsible for all these errors? Or do you think I might have a few problems? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi KenT. Had a look, good site, exept just my luck - only one for mine! P0725, it says is a transmission prob, but the gearbox etc feels fine, no different to any time. So P1590 and P1335 are still elusive. Anyone any links to other sites or further advice? Cheers.

Hey starwhites. I used to live on Marlowe Drive many years ago. When I was a teenager I lived with my mum in some disabled flats near the Davy Lamp, she had multiple sclerosis. Tabard used to be a nice pub. Is it still?

Many thanks TheBoy. Looks like getting a list of codes for my model is not that easy. Been on the net all afternoon and still nothing. Good job this baby is not a Ford or similar - it would have been scrapped by now!! Does anyone have a missus problem when owning a beauty like this? Mine keeps saying I love my car more than her.
