I'll have to give it a try on Saturday morning, provided there's good weather. Do suggest getting new manifold gaskets?

Morning Guys,
My battery light is flashing in my X reg tractor and the auto electricians confirmed the alternator to be the suspect. Are there any pictures or guides on removing the alternator from the diesel engine, without removing the intake manifold? Whilst the local garages are telling me to scrap the car, I feel like it's become part of the family and just need to keep it going till these money making diesel laws come to my part London next year.

Could you please tell me how you removed the first flare nut please . At the moment, the brake booster and the master cylinder are in way, as well as the brake lines to the master cylinder. What’s the risk of removing the brake booster and master cylinder?

It's getting to the first flare nut on the steering box and I had trouble getting a 19mm crow foot.

Apologies, I meant that there are the 2 brake lines going to the master cylinder which are in the way of getting to the steering box.

Guy's, I've opened the flare nut on the front end of the power steering pipe, but am having trouble getting to the flare nut on the steering box. There are also 2 brake lines going to the master cylinder.
Any suggestions will be appreciated

Guys, I just removed the air filter box to gain access to the pipe and checked that it is same as part number DE 24419089 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OPEL-OMEGA-POWER-STEERING-PUMP-HOSE-PIPE-DE-24419089/310311004127?epid=20016874004&hash=item483ffa27df:g:YCMAAOSwxdtasTaQ
[size=78%]The front end which needs WD40 to release probably goes to the pump but the rear end goes to the steering box. It's the end going to the steering box that's going to be a pain to release and can it be removed without interfering with the brake booster lines in the way? Looks like only a number 19 spanner can get to it. do you have any suggestions?[/size]

Hi,
My diesel has another cut power steering hose and this time it is the hose on the drivers side that is wrapped in foil. What’s the easiest way to remove it?
My issue is that mechanics in East London don’t seem to want to work on Omegas these days and one of them told me that it’s a whole day job.

Has anyone replaced a power steering return hose on a 2.5 diesel before? My return hose has a cut on the section next to the battery and is leaking badly when turning the steering. I purchased a so called genuine part from Vauxhall-Car-Parts and they sent me a pipe (part no. 24405033) with a fitting on one end only but with no fitting on the other end to go to the pump.
Any help will be appreciated.

I've had the car for 2 years now and only covered about 4000 miles since I bought it. It has 154000 miles on the clock. I thought about draining the oil out earlier on. The strange thing though, is that there are no oil leaks on the driveway, buy the sump looks wet with oil.

I did check the selector as advised by another member and looks intact, but can do with a good clean up. I'll be on the look out for a used AR35 now.

I'll check the switch. I did try to locate the drain nut on the gearbox last year while I had the steering arm replaced and found one on the side of the large sump , but not the small one. If it is the box, how reliable is the AR35?

I mistakenly put this topic in the general chat area.
My autobox slipped earlier on after going over a pot hole and was as if it was stuck in neutral. Had to pull over , select park and after a few minutes, select drive and it took off again. Is there something to be concerned about, as I'm new to automatics?
