Thanks to all for the advice
I shall try and ignore the light and use some of the higher grade fuel for a couple of tankfulls to see if the light dissappears as Kevin Wood has suggested.
Kevin - ignore the pm that I have sent.
Assume this matter now closed.
Thanks again
Roger

Hi All,
Thanks for your suggestions responses to my question.
I have now carried out the pedal trick and the code is 0420 which indicates that the catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1).
Does that mean a new sensor, or a new catylitic converter or does the system need re-setting/re-calibrating?
I did use some fuel from a garage that was in the process of being refurbished so maybe their storage tanks were low and the fuel could have been dodgy?
Regards

Hi All,
The only thing that may have caused a change recently, was the recent MOT work which entailed dropping down of the exhaust & propshaft to fit complete new handbrake cable. Maybe the oxygen sensor got disturbed, but that work was completed a week ago and the light has only just come on.
Perhaps I will contact Kevin Wood as I am in Alton on Wednesday.
Regards

Hi all,
My 3.2 Elite has developed a fault, indicated on the emission light - it appears to stay on permanently orange.
From reading the comments on the forum I need to find someone local to me with a code reader to give me a clue on solving the problem, I am located in Warsash Southampton and travel regularly through Hampshire so can anyone help

Hi all
I have been using Omegas for general transport for a couple of years but have now got serious about these motors
I currently drive black Elite 3.2 estate very smooooth
my wife drives titanium Opel elite saloon 3.0 for the last year or so, very nice motor except for the small bubbles of rust.
I have a 2L silver omega saloon on the drive with dented rear o/s door which I have been driving for a couple of years. Waiting on insurance
I also have my son's blue 2L estate temporarily on my drive before going to the breakers.
He has now got a newer omega estate 2L to run around in.Omegas all around
