Omega General Help / Re: v6 omega exhaust

Sounds chav tactic  :y

how is it chavtastic, it will make it sound better give it a bit more go

Standard GM exhaust setup is free flowing enough, little improvements to be made. Restriction is at the exhaust manifolds.

Welding pipes in place of middle boxes will make it sound very loud, that may give the perception of increased performance  ;)

ive done it before and its only a little louder and it does make an improvement

I tried contacting Remus but have heard a thing from them, so now it looks like I will be chopping the middle boxes out and welding some pipe in and then changing the back box for a stainless steel item

Don't start the job unless you have a torque wrench capable of tightening to only 8nm. :y
Follow the maintenance guide, and also follow the guide for cleaning breathers.Blocked breathers are the cause of leaking camcover gaskets. ;)

funily enough i have just had a look see in the how 2 guides for cleaning the breathers but i cant seem to find it, has it been removed??

I would try a reboot by removing it first in case there's something loose, or a problem with the fascia connections. Might be something totally different of course!
Other than that replace it with a known working 2006 unit. You could go down the NCDC route but you'll need to replace the screen as well, and they have their own issues.
Sorry if you know that  :-X

the stereo was removed just before i bought it to be recoded and re-fitted the day i got the car, is there another omega bose unit that will fit without having to change the screen as the one in my car is a tape player and 4 cd and i just think tape players are a bit naff. tia

Pads, £15 on TC. Pads and Discs, £100 on TC. Easy job.
Adjustments - see the Handbrake Guide in Maintenence Guides. Easy-ish job.
Oil Cooler, about £130, plus another £30ish for ancillaries. Easy-ish job, but needs some tools you may not have.

how much do you think a garage would charge, im just trying to weigh up fix or flee, lol

My 3.0(2000-w) omega has aquired some faults :(, nothing to major but im after prices to rectiy it,
it needs
front pads(poss discs aswell)
rear handbrake adjustment(only just holds)
oil cooler(i think), there appears to be a little bit of oil mxing with the coolant in the header tank,
although the engine still purrs with no power loss or miss-fire what so ever, so how much for the bits to put it right :y
