Omega General Help / Gearbox heating up..
« on: 01 April 2015, 22:56:30 »
Evening all.
Just a quick one, I noticed tonight when I arrived at work a 32 mile journey, that there was a bit of heat coming from the console where the auto box selector is.. I take it this is probably not normal..
My gear changes are all normal except for the little bit of heat..?
And is there a dipstick to check the gearbox oil level..?
Thanks.

Omega General Help / Re: Strange noise
« on: 30 March 2015, 22:49:45 »
Precats both sides, standard factory fitted fault codes for a DBW v6 ;D
0650 is because the eml bulb is missing, so only actually two codes worth mentioning...

Check out the maintenance guide index for the codes :y

Will this be meaning both pre cats are oppsed..? Any solution to fix..?
Could it also be causing the more diesel sounding car inside..
I was thinking it sound like a pressure build up somewhere..?

Omega General Help / Strange noise
« on: 30 March 2015, 22:33:51 »
Evening all
I will try and describe this issue the best way I can.
Since Saturday my car 2.6 mv6 saloon has developed a strange noise from inside the cabin.. Coming from the drivers side footwell to the top of dashboard . It's best described as a car not running on all cylinders.
From under the bonnet all sounds as it should. Confirmed by the attendance of the rac to check it over.
He scanned the car and found the following fault codes.
P 0430
P0420
P0650
P 1700
P0500
The eml bulb has been removed, obviously to hide the fact of the codes.
The car seems to be running fine, it's got the same pick up, but just feels a little bit more laboured in getting there.
Any ideas...?
Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Information display
« on: 26 March 2015, 08:20:45 »
Is it the plod car in your profile? Different models have different displays, but most likely that the bulbs have gone :y
No.. It's a 53 plate saloon.. The plod car went ages ago..
There is no signs of life in the display at all.. Baffled.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Information display
« on: 26 March 2015, 06:44:25 »
Morning
My dashboard information display hasn't worked since getting the car..
I've checked the fuses. But the radio is run off the fuse, so as my radio works I've ruled this out.
Does the information display connect to the radio, if so could it be just a case of the connection has come loose..?
Just a thought.
Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / FL dashboard lights.
« on: 26 March 2015, 06:39:21 »
Morning all.
Just a quick one here.
I have a number of bulbs out on my dashboard. But before I go ahead a remove the dashboard, does anybody know the number of replacement bulbs required..? And the bulb types.?
I am planning on getting led replacements as but would be helpful to buy the bulbs before taking the dashboard apart..
Thank you in advance

As far as the heater blowing cold on one side only.. I fixed this one Sunday.. Thought it was going to be a pig of a job which is why I left it for so long...  Only took 15mins.
Thanks for your input. You don't fancy doing the job for me do you. Lol

1. Cure is in the guides :y

2. Probably the bulbs... Easy enough to check when you sort the others :y

3. Standard failed door solenoid. Either fix or replace. Guides for both :y
Sorry you've lost me regarding point one..?
I take it there is a guide somewhere on here that Relates to the heating issue.. Could it be thermostat..?

Omega General Help / 2.6 v6 mv6 various issues
« on: 23 March 2015, 15:10:02 »
Good afternoon all
Well I've got back into yet another omega..,
Not without its issues though, having only owed it less than a day I've already got a few issues.
1, the heating. It's only blowing warm air on the passenger vents and the rear. The drivers are blowing cold..? Any ideas where to start.
2,the information module isn't working haven't got any idea what radio station I'm on lol. The radio works, I have a couple of dashboard bulbs out, but the info console nothing..?
3, Central Locking. All works fine, but the drivers door just keeps popping up. So I have to lock the car manually, or with the remote if I want to leave the drivers door unlocked.?
I'm sure I will have other problems. But none have raised there head yet..
Thanks in advance.

evening all

I know this is off subject, but I was looking for some advice regarding a 2003 Vectra 2.2 auto elegance hatchback, with 170k on the clock 2 owners ex company car part service history, I wanted to know if this would be timing belt or chain..? and if chain when would the changing interval's be..? if there is one ??
is there anything else I need to check for.. Im not a newbie to buying cars but got caught out once with an astra, 2 weeks later the cambelt snapped.. >:(
thanks in advance
