Omega General Help / Omega For Sale - Advice
« on: 23 August 2012, 16:49:14 »
Hi all,

I am aware I cannot post in the for sale section as I haven't submitted enough posts, however I would like to offer my car to the people on here before going down the autotrader route etc. What is the best way to go about this?

Many Thanks,

Dan.

Hi all,

Is there anyone on here who is willing to service my Omega? Its done 78,000 miles, 2.6 v6 Auto and recently had the cambelt done but I would like all the bits doing. Oil, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, Pollen Filter (VX parts if poss) and someone to give it a general health check.

I am willing to pay and also provide endless cups of tea or coffee  :)

Let me know if anyone fancies doing this.

Cheers,

Dan.

Omega General Help / Sunroof Question
« on: 15 February 2012, 14:57:26 »
Hi guys,

Had a look on the forum and found a guide in the maintenance section but didn't really answer my question. I want to remove the black aluminium?? strip around the sunroof (as you look at the car from the outside) The paint has started to bubble and I want to bring it in the garage to paint it. warmer  ;D

Any advice as to whether this is possible would be appreciated. :y

Cheers,

Dan.

Omega General Help / Re: Battery Nightmare - Please Help!
« on: 05 February 2012, 15:56:53 »
Did you get manage to sort the problem?

Hi Pete, yes thanks. Only this morning though. I tried again to undo the nut and bolt but I couldn't shift it, even with 2x 10mm spanners and a big coating of WD40. However I got lucky on my final attempt; the bolt snapped. Once that was free I replaced it with an M6 bolt with a non slip washer under the head of the bolt and then two nuts on the end. It tightened up easily and securely, so hopefully that will have sorted it out.  :)

A massive thanks to everyone for help and suggestions the Omega lives again!  :y

Tried with spanners and screwdriver + WD40 and it won't shift. Left with little option than to cut it off and replace. Can anyone recommend what I need to buy? in terms of size/width of bolt? Is this something I can get from B&Q as VX parts will be shut now.

Many Thanks,

A very very cold Dan.

Omega General Help / Battery Nightmare - Please Help!
« on: 04 February 2012, 13:44:01 »
Hi guys,

Finally got round to doing the battery and knew it wouldn't be simple. Have taken both terminals off and found the positive one looking like the picture below.  :(

http://gallery.me.com/dcjg70#100484

I've tried to tighten the positive terminal but the square headed bolt just slips as its worn away part of the terminal. I also can't remove the nut due to it slipping.  :'(

What are my options? Could I hacksaw the bolt off and get another nut and bolt from somewhere like B&Q?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. :y

Thanks.

Omega General Help / Replacement Battery
« on: 01 February 2012, 13:52:08 »
Hi all,

I am going to endeavour to change the battery on the car tonight which has by the looks of it been on it since new. I have had a look through the maintenance guides but can't seem to see an answer to my question. Quite a simple one really.

What is the best/correct way to remove the battery and how do I remove the fuse pack that sits above the battery so I can get to the positive terminal?

Cheers,

Dan.

Omega General Help / Tech2 - Midlands
« on: 31 January 2012, 07:56:03 »
Hi,

Is there anybody near to Burton on Trent who has a tech2 type device who would be willing to clear some error codes and update the gearbox software to the latest version?

Cheers,

Dan.

Cambelt was done on the last service and by the look of the log book for the first time (70,000 miles) not convinced the water pump has ever been done though.
