Hi all,
I'm looking to change over from a ccr 2006 radio fitment to a single din head unit and was wondering if anyone can tell me the right colour match for the single din facia replacement to match the surround in a 2001 estate. There seem to be diffferent colour types available, black, charcoal and gunmetal to name a few. It appears to me to be a grey shade but that does not mean vauxhall don't call it black?
Any help appreciated.

They are a stud. Peal them away, so to speak, with a fat blade screw driver or small lever type thing. They pop onto pips on the sill.
 They are often mistaken for the top hat style with a dowel in the middle, not the case.

on mine i just pulled the wires off the glass, the are on simlar to button clips so no wires need chopping

Estate - try to bypass the rear window glass break sensors

Yes Estate.To bypass them is it a case of cutting off the sensor ends (caps) and joining the Two wires together or is as sugested below just take them off and tape the ends up?

tb you dont have to bypass, just disconect and the alarm ecu thinks its a saloon, mine was giving same problems, not heard it since, i had it plugged in on live data and just shows not connected

Hi all,
is there anyone out there living near Plymouth who has a reader and could read my alarm codes for me? I have followed the basic steps to isolate the problem, power sounder, bonnet switch etc but it still persists and likes to sound off only in the early hours  .

Thought I would take my mind of the alarm going off again this morning at 4.am  . Not much left to detatch or turn off to find the fault. I might end up getting alarm codes read at vauxhall or disable the damn thing.  So I thought I would tackle replacing the cam sensor, cam cover gaskets and clean out the oil breather. All appears to have gone well. that's to say the car started after the fix  .Slight drip still under car but I'm hoping its the remains of what is already on the block, fingers crossed. I was amazed how much oil was in the spark plug holes and the gallery along the top and that the car was still functioning. All shiney now and thanks for the helpful tuts.

Cam sensors are funny on the 2.2...

They cause all sorts of other codes to be flagged, like crank, and gearbox issues, these issues dont exist.

Change the cam sensor (for genuine VX, pattern are next to useless on these) and clear all codes, you should be fine then.

Hi,

I have a 2.2 2001 Estate which last week for the first time, hesitated starting. Cranking but not firing. On the third crank it started but I had an engine check light. It drove home fine and once home I connected my OBD reader and got 335 (Crank sensor).
I erased it and after that the car was fine again. Used it for just over a week and then today it hesitated slightly (nothing like as badly as before) and then fired and engine management light again. Drove home (runs fine) and got the reader. This time I got 340 (cam sensor) and 1700 (?)
I've erased the codes and all seems fine. Will see how it is tomorrow.

I've read lots on here about the sensors and I'm not getting any odd revving or not idling. In fact, the car drives no different with or without the codes.

I don't know if it is relevant but I recently had the Cambelt/waterpump replaced.

Any suggestions? Shall I wait and see if it happens again or replace one or both?

I'm after replacing the black leather rear seat base in my 2.2 ecotec 01 estate as its been ruined by the previous owner  . Are all facelift rear bases compatable? It would help widen my search if saloon bases are the same.

i just got to get mine working now  as i havent got power anywhere looks like police have bypassed the interior light wiring to a striplight that use to be on headlining.... great fun thats going to be to sort out!!

Good luck with that. From what I can see the power for the interior lights come from the K153 relay. I think it is located just behind the fuse panel. I think there is a post on here somewhere with a picture of its location. It may be a good starting point,who knows it may have been removed?

Just to wrap up this post.
I now have a set of fully operational interior lights . It was indeed a couple of dodgy door switches and as a reference the switches as priviously suggested act as grounding points for the lighting circuit when a door is open thus completing the circuit.I took one apart and it appears the contact point between the switches metal base which screws to the door pillar and the spring loaded switch end inside had burnt out at the contact point.   Thanks to all for your input.
