JLS,the boy band, are breaking up! :'( :'( :'(

Why is it now that no group stays together like the old ones did, like the Beatles, Stones, The Who, Status Quo, etc, etc?

A case of too much money and fame too quickly?  I wonder ;)

There are dozens more bands who do stay together and make incredible music for every JLS that splits up. There are certainly 'equivalents' to the stones or the who now...Pearl Jam, Metallica etc

The music industry has always had a mix of serious artists, one hit wonders and novelty acts... Nothing has changed.

Even in the 60s there were pop dross bands that cashed in then disapeared.

Interesting to see how happy and fired up rossi was post race. He clearly still has the fire in the belly. If he is close to the front near the end, I would always bet on him to get the win. For me, he is the greatest of all time. Lorenzo should be worried! As for pedrosa, he will never win a GP champioship... Hasnt got the killer instinct at this level.

Omega General Help / Re: Dry as a bone

Thanks for the advice.

Traced the blockage to the pipe between passenger side scuttle and jets themselves. Looking at post above, I will get new jets - how are these fitted as there isn't much room to move from bonnet underside, only two skinny cut outs where jets are. Do jets themselves prise out from the top face of the bonnet? Didn't want to try this for fear of putting a whopping scratch in the paint!

Hi all

Got a bit of a problem with my front wipers or more specifically the washer sprayers. The wiper arms operate fine and when the wiper stalk is pulled to spray the washers, I can hear the washer motor running but no spray from either the bonnet nozzles or headlamp washers... not even a drip!

I know I have a leak somewhere on the system as a couple of days after filling the washer reservoir, the dash will warn a low level and the system will be empty. I can see a steady drip from under the front of the car when I top up. That said If I brim it and then try it, still no spray from the bonnet or headlamp jets. I thought maybe a pipe connector had come off somewhere hence no water getting to any of the jets but other than a steady drip when I top up there's no significant stream of water anywhere which I would have expected to see if a pipe had completely come free.

Any thoughts? Its a 97 Elite Estate.

Thanks!

Dave

Just thought I would share some photos I took of the Miggy today.  :)

Not bad considering it will be 16 this year. Barely a mark to be found anywhere and not even the smallest patch of rust!

Obviously I'm a bit biased but I cant imagine there are many P plate Migs in this condition left.  If only it did a few more MPG.  :'(

My original post was tongue in cheek to be fair.... Weve got two kids aged 4 and 5 and we foster aswell so getting out for an hour undisturbed to clean the motor is actually quite theraputic!!  :y

After a couple of weeks of snow, sleet and grit, the old Omega is in a right state. Inside is the same story with a couple of weeks of kids snow and mud covered wellies being dragged all over my beige carpets and leather.

The question is; is it pathetic that I am looking forward to spending most of my Saturday cleaning and polishing it and is it a reflection of my sad and empty life that this will possibly be the highlight of my weekend?....apart from watching Saints in glorious HD in their opening game of the Super League Season on Saturday evening that is.

Photos of a gleaming old Omega to follow this weekend….

I dont think you can beat a good road trip. A few years ago I took VR from work and me and the Mrs spent a few months driving around europe. More recently me and a few mates drove a battered m-reg toyota lucida from St Helens to Rome... Brilliant adventure!

I presume smokers will not be allowed to receive new treatments developed through re-channeled cancer research funding you mention? How about heavy drinkers? People who participate in high risk recreational activities... Sky diving, climbing, car/bike track days or racing?  Drink drivers or drunk pedestrians involved in accidents? If you go down the "its your own fault route" it becomes very difficult to draw a line.

Even the badge is a pug/opel hybrid... Or is it the Hoffmeister bear being struck by lightning. Either way, its utter crap
