Spot on.

You either have a well executed scheme that is mandatory OR use the money saved on the authorities doing their job and swooping on businesses and dealing with the illegals and employer. OOF could supply the target business addresses. Or set up a snitch line.

That is today, no doubt he will think differently when he gets up next day.

Or it could be that reform turn out To be just as bad as the others?

I bet right now there are people who voted Trump thinking things aren’t going well just as there would be Biden voters who thought the same. They are all the same. Promise the earth and deliver beggar all ( but manage to get rich from it with books, after dinner speeches etc.)

Given how many big organisations have had data stolen in the past few months, and it appears at least one of them paid £20m ransom to the crooks, and the data was still leaked anyway, can you imagine a civil service department keeping the data remotely safe?  Or even store it exclusively in sovereign territory?

No bloody chance.  Not a hope in hell.

Silly me, I thought to legally get a job in the UK you had to prove you were allowed to work here.  How is this ill considered idea any different?

There is a very simple way to stoop illegal small boat crossings, and the Royal Navy could use the target practice.  That would be a proper deterent, though I accept would have to be done 9 miles out from France....

My solution would be to immediately ship them back to various French beaches using RN landing craft. Let the French or whoever handle their asylum claims. Yes it would create a bit of a furore but in the grand scheme of things the French would get over it. Just a fortnight of returns would see the route dry up.
A friend says he would use Hercules to parachute them randomly back into Europe!

Sadly it is inevitable. Everyone in the world ( when it is controlled by Emperor Xi) will have implanted chip to ID them. Naturally countries championing freedom, free speech and so on will kick against it. Yet you have ANPR, cars that can report  where and  how you were driving, phones and social media. In fact people are happy to be bombarded with offers based on their surfing.

So what is the actual issue with having ID? Everyone in Spain has an ID card. In twenty years I have been asked for it once ( when Igot stopped at a routine roadside stop). It is however very useful in transactions eg ordering goods as it gives the vendor solid info as to who you are.

If it was linked to social security/ health number, national insurance and bank accounts it would help weed out fraud perhaps.

Love the project tunnie . Keep the photos coming.

Branch line on brackets around the garden wall next?

I had Canadian Pacific Hornsby rolling stock as a nipper ( reflected my mother’s heritage). I strove for distance and had boxes of the yard ? long straights.

A friend had a superb layout in a room above a garage. I remember two things . One him plugging in the transformers by inserting bare wires into the sockets using matchsticks. Two the overpowering smell of ozone?

Another fiend had a superb clockwork train set which we played with in their garden. I bought him a turntable for his birthday.

Congrats.

My dad passed away peacefully in his sleep last Oct. Enjoy every moment while he is alive. I have some regrets about things I wished I had asked him about but we still had some fantastic conversations right up to and including his last night.

Paddy walks into a bar and orders 7 Tequilas and a Guinness.
The barman pours the 7 Tequilas and goes to get the Guinness.

When he comes back he notices that Paddy has drunk all the shots.
You drank those fast he says.

"You'd drink them fast too if you knew what I knew".
"Oh yeah" he says. "What do you know?"

"I've only got 2 Euros".

So if JLR make about a 1000 cars a week, what support is there for supply companies having to lay off staff? Or do they just pay staff to do no or less work? I thought everything now is “ Just in time” supply?

President Donald Trump on Sunday tried to justify the fatal US strike on a Venezuelan boat by claiming that 300 million people, presumably Americans, died from drugs last year.. Probably more like 75,000 but 300 million gets more sycophants on board.

Over the summer he claimed he was cutting prescription drug prices by 1,500%, which ― if true ― would bring prices down to negative numbers

Roll on Wednesday for more fakery. ;D
