HI ALL. SORRY ITS BEEN A WHILE BUT WEATHER AND HOLIDAYS DELAYED ANY WORK ON THIS OMEGA.

STRIPPED IT DOWN AND FOUND BREATHER PIPES BLOCKED, CLEANED OUT THOROUGHLY.
WHILST REMOVING OLD GASKET NOTICED THAT NONE OF THE O RINGS HAD BEEN REPLACED.
REPLACED ROCKER COVER GASKETS, O RINGS, ACTUALLY THE FULL KIT AS RECOMMENDED BY MARK DTM.

EVERYTHING SEEMS OK AT PRESENT.

JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU CANNOT TRUST GARAGES TO DO THE WORK PROPERLY.

MANY,MANY THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ASSISTANCE ON HERE.

CAR MAY BE UP FOR SALE IN A LITTLE WHILE AS CHANGE OF JOB LOCATION MEANS A LOT MORE MILES DAILY, WILL LET YOU KNOW

had the cam cover gaskets done about 4 months ago, because the plugs on both sides were covered in oil.
seemed to be ok for a while until the oil started pouring out.

the oil filter and sealing ring were changed last week and are ok.

the leak seems to be at the back and towards the top of the engine. going of the info so far the oil cooler or unions seem the next best bet.

is it easy or hard to do these. have a mechanic friend whose willing to look at it for me but has never worked on v6 before

Hi guys.
I live in Oldham.
The oil appears to be coming from the back of the engine, bulkhead in way can't see anything.

Hi.
Not being any good with engines I can only take the garages word that they cleaned them.
The oil comes out without any pressure.
From the back of the engine, stand at front of car looking at engine, right hand side.
Pours out even when just ticking over. Was hoping a split pipe but cannot see anything.
Hope this helps

Have a 1998 2.5 v6 tourer. Only done 84,000
Work done in last few months.
Cambelt, tensioners and water pump.
New discs and pads all round.
Rocker cover gaskets replaced and breather pipes cleaned.
Now have a very bad oil leak, garage saying its the head gasket and that the car is not worth repairing.
no change in performance at all, just using a litre of oil every 50 miles.
Am I being conned or should I scrap it?
Cheers in advance for any help or ideas
