Bump

Double and triple checked the wiring connectors, still no joy. There's definitely no spark at the plugs. New DIS pack fitted and the DIS electrical connector appears to be receiving power on  #1 and #2 with the ignition switched to position 2. Any help gratefully accepted :-[

This problem seems to have came about after you changed the cam sensor.

its a shot in the dark but when you done cam sensor.do you remember pulling that wire loom/trunking around on the cam cover
are you sure something has not came unplugged a little but not enough to be easily noticed :y

All connectors are fine from what I can gather. It's a mystery, alright. :-\

Thanks for the help bigtimecube :y

Sorry just re-read that....yes the plugs were tested with an earthed cable.

However, the fact that the plugs are wet with fuel should mean that there's no spark?

5
been following this..how do you know you dont have any sparks at plugs

Hi,
I removed the DIS pack and inserted the plugs directly into it. Then tested for a spark on each plug with an earthed piece of metal (old jump leads). The plugs are wet with petrol too after removing them from the head.

I don't want to scrap the car...but it's looking like I'm out of options at this stage.:(

7
Brand new DIS pack fitted, still no spark. With ignition key switched to position 2 I'm getting power at #1 and #2 on the DIS electrical connector ...is this correct?

8
No spark at the plugs so I reckon it's the DIS pack that's failed...unlikely that all 4 plugs would fail at once.

Crank sensor changed out today (and yes...it is a pig of a job), but the non starting issue remains :-\

Help! :-[

Cheers Mark. I'm not looking forward to doing the crank sensor...but needs must! ;D
I did notice that there's a loose connector block with a single wire (black/blue) tucked down by the ECU. Anyone know what this is for?

11
this sounds like the problem i just had !

Did you find out what the problem was with your's?

Edit: I just spotted the issue with your car. Mine had an ECU/Immobiliser/Transponder changed a few months ago so I don't think that's the issue...also no fault codes showing on my car.

Thanks again freecall666. :y

I checked out both this morning and they are fine. Got a replacement cam sensor delivered today too, swapped it in and same issue...car will turn over on the key but won't fire. My last hope is if a replacement crank sensor will do the trick, though I believe the 2.2's will actually run on a faulty one?

While waiting for the sensors to arrive I'll have a look at the fuel pump and relay's tomorrow. Is the fuel pump for the 2.2 Mig in the fuel tank?

Thanks freecall666, I've a used (and guaranteed working) cam sensor winging it's way to me. I'll have a look and see if I can pick up a crank sensor too. :)

Fuses fine, fresh battery installed, no warning lights on dash, no faults shown in diagnostics.Car won't catch on either cam sensor now, just turns over with no other untoward noises  :-\ ..anyone have any other guesses? The wiring loom for the cam sensor appears intact and in good condition too.
