Thanks chaps for all your advice.  Will check it all out.  May possibly be just the key as the "other" key seems to work ok.  But of course sets off the alarm!!  Getting another key cut and fitted by a pal at local locksmiths.............

Hi folks,
The ignition key has been getting progressively harder to turn without much wiggling.  As it's happened in a fairly short time I assume it is the lock-barrel and not the actual key.  Is it difficult or problematic to change the barrel??  I understand there may be key issues as well.

Hi, The CD player on my 1999 Elite has suddenly decided it doesn't want to click shut.  I can close the outer cover but I just get a "magazine" read out appear on the screen. Tape & tuner work fine.  Any ideas out there??

I don't know why the photo licence can't be used instead of a passport.  It has more info on it and everyone who had passed their test would then get one.  Not a driver; then just get a normal passport. I suppose the cost of the combined document would be about £100 though!!!

Yup, have lifted and wiggled it!! Key moves freely both way with no resistance at all.  Didn't know if there was an extra "security" button or something.

I cannot unlock the glove box on my Elite. Key goes in ok, turns both ways but cannot operate lock. Am I missing something??

Just like to say hello as recently joined.  Have recently purchased 2000 V6 Elite auto and pleased as punch with it.
