Omega General Help / Re: Wheel question.
« on: 14 May 2016, 20:44:47 »
I've lowered my MV6 estate by about 30mm but with updated shocks as well as lowering springs, and was running some Elite 17s for a while with no problems of rubbing etc. With 235/45/17 tyres.
I then went for some 19" Snowflakes from with 235/35/19 tyres and although not much clearance to the front shocks there is no rubbing either if camber is set correctly

Also, not sure of the standard bore but the Jetex is 2.5inch all the way through. Sound is good too. Fairly quite on idle, low down rumble on accelerating. It doesn't sound cheap if you get me

I would recommend the Jetex system. Probably is more expensive but to me it seemed better quality and more pipe work than the custom Powerflow exhaust that I took off mine.
The Powerflow came with the car and couldn't have been on that long really. Started to get a terrible noise which was I guess a baffle plate in the one centre box that was there instead of the two separate.
Not sure if the cause of the plate rattling was down to the two pipes joining after the cats and then into one box and one pipe thereafter, but it must have been more restrictive for gases.
The mess that the cats flanges were in after removing the Powerflow, I had to get new flanges welded on, but it was never right and replaced the cats not too long after that

Omega General Help / Re: 3.0 V6 estate prop shaft

Thanks for the replies and help

I did have a thought afterwards that it the difference could have been between auto/manual instead of saloon/estate. I've had it lying a while until managing to find the time to look at it. My fault as should have at least checked it when I got it.

Yeah your right, the rear half and bearing are the same though. That gives me something to look at again tomorrow. Thanks Harris   :y

Omega General Help / 3.0 V6 estate prop shaft
« on: 04 May 2016, 12:06:52 »
Hi all

Just in the process of changing my diff for updated one and have had a whine/rumbling noise for a while now also. Noticed before this that the prop shaft bearing didn't look great either, the rubber boot next to it had split and the splined section was visible through it. Decided to change the prop shaft also for a used one which supposedly had less miles etc and seemed better condition. Come to replace it and noticed that comparing the the one I'm taking off, it is shorter by around 20 cm without measuring, so I'm thinking I've got one for a saloon which has been sent.
Can't seem to find any part numbers on either, but there is a yellow sticker on each one. The one coming off has the letters 'LL' and the one that I was going to put in but not now not has 'LM' on it.
Either way it simply not right, but can anyone confirm if those letters are the difference between estate and saloon before I go back and speak with the seller.

Thanks

Well I'll see how the centre tie rod lasts. Wishbones are still OK although the I did poly bush them before they needed doing

General Discussion Area / All German Parts - Lemforder
« on: 03 May 2016, 22:09:47 »
Hi all

I phoned AGP today as I couldn't use the website. Spoke to Jason who said that the site was not running at full capacity at the moment and will be back running again soon. I thought I'd pass that on first of all should anyone be put off thinking the site was down. Quick phone call to Jason, and he rang me back to let me know parts were in their way the next day.

I was ordering a centre tie rod and requested Lemforder, due to known quality of wishbones I and many others have had. When he phoned me back, apparently I got the last one currently in UK, and looking on the the details for part number there was so many left in Germany but it was marked down as being discontinued.

Anyone thinking they might need one, of a decent quality, might want to think about it sooner. Should have asked him, but hopefully it's not other parts for the Omega also

Hi All

Does anyone speak to or have contact with Gtstylebaby?
I inboxed him about some items he had advertised a while ago but mustn't have noticed it yet. Thanks

Regards
Andrew

I'm sure you need to select 'Opel' instead of Vauxhall 👍

Oh right. I hadn't got round to looking at the price yet, thanks for letting me know. More money needed to throw at the car then haha

Hi. Apologises if this is obvious, but I have had a look and can't seem to find the answer.
If you were to upgrade the exhaust manifolds on a 3.0 V6 with the manifolds from a 3.2 V6, which gaskets would you use? Is there any difference in them?
Am I also right in saying that the 2.6 and 3.2 manifolds are the same? Thanks

Andrew

Omega General Help / Saloon parts onto an Estate???
« on: 17 April 2014, 20:21:34 »
Hi All

After changing most of the suspension setup on my '00 3.0 V6 Auto Elite Saloon in August 2013, unfortunately it was wrote off after a relatively minor side impact with another car a month later. I managed to buy the car back for a very good price considering what parts I'd just paid to put on it, and purchased a '00 3.0 V6 Manual MV6 Estate.

I just had a couple queries which I wasn't sure of and was hoping someone would be able to help?

The saloon had new shocks all round, removing the self levelling from the rear, and lowered springs front and back. The front suspension can be transferred over, and I can see the shocks on the rear are fitted at a different angle and will probably be different length so therefore unable to be used, but what difference is there really in the rear springs between saloon and estate?

I also had a new exhaust system (cats back) delivered for the saloon just the day before having the accident. I know the rear sections are different between both cars, but are the centre sections for the saloon able to be used on the estate?

Thanks in advance for any help

Regards
Andrew
