Big Thx to everyone who posted help, waterpump is done for the grand total of £43.00 which i'm definately happy about, since the last waterpump to go on me (vectra) involved rebuilding the head.

Gonna park this up and go for a beer i reckon

Hmmm i wonder. Should i re-fill the system just before hitting this pump? i'd hate to lose out on this once in a lifetime experience...

i'll look to see if i can find out what needs removing to get it out. Looked tight behind power steering pump, and a load of harnesses attached too.

i did start to remove the timing belt cover, but it didnt look as if it would come out without taking a lot of stuff off. I tried removing the tensioner pulley and some electrical leads, but it was still pretty wedged in, so i decided to persevere with it loose.
i guess i just wanted to double check there was nothing other than the 3 screws i removed, holding the pump in place, before i continued hitting it to try and release it.
if there is an easy way of getting rid of the timing belt cover, i'd be glad to hear how to do it, it would certainly make this a lot easier.

Hi waterpump broke and i need to replace it. i have removed three screws but it does not appear to want to come out. Trying to do this without removing the cambelt cover so its difficult to see whats going on.
Have i released all the screws? any reason why the pump does not want to come out? i have tried hitting it but it doesn't seem to move at all, and i dont want to damage anything other than the faulty pump.

Any advice greatly appeciated!
