General Car Chat / Re: Cycles on Roof Rack

I've used roof mount and towbar. Both have been fine, but i prefer the towbar mount, you just have to make sure that you don't need to open the boot until you arrive. Roof mount is unerving if you have a sunroof, you can see the bikes moving around, but i soon learnt to ignore it. Bear in mind that with either system the securing straps go around the bike wheels, so make sure you don't have a slow puncture.

I know I'll regret it, that's why I still have the car, six months after deciding to sell. The only other car that I've felt I should have kept was a MK2 Scirocco GTI, the replacement made practical and financial sense, but it was really boring to drive.... a bit of deja vu really.

I agree, the car is great, I'll be sorry to see it go. My brother and dad have them too.

I'm currently running two cars my old Omega and a deisel Modeo, I know which I prefer, even with the age difference and the Ford gadgets. The Modeo seems more akin to a domestic appliance than a proper automobile. The Omega has soul.

Penrith is far quicker, but the route over Dunmail Raise and north is much more fun. Just watch some of the sweeping bends, I was chasing an XJ6 through there in my old Scirocco, years ago, got quite scary, them big Jags can go some.

Hi there, my first post, I signed up a few days ago.
I'll be honest about it, my Omega of three years or so is great car, however unfortunatly we have to part our ways.
Nobody seems to want them anymore, they obviously don't know what they are missing, so I'm off to try my 250 posts and save the car from the scrappy.
