Newbie Welcome Area / omega gearbox problem

Have a 2001 omega estate,2.2 auto petrol. Problem is. From a cold start,engage drive and about 50% of the time its like the gearbox is taking off in a high gear,forcing me to change manualy. After about 5 minutes,pull over and restart,the problem has gone.Went to a garage,had service etc,they said problem fixed,but after a few days it recurred. Any ideas please?many thanks. Allan.

I was getting wet carpet,but mechanic undid a drain hose,problem gone now,although that was passenger side, and yes very slight misting lower corners of screen. So are you saying matrix problem,the drips under car are in line with dash.

2.2 omega. My mechanic couldnt find leak, Can do a 150 mile trip with no leak, but when you park up there id a loss of 1-2 litres,short journeys need top up every time. have used radweld with no effect. Mechanic said he thnks could be the matrix. Any ideas? or is he most probably correct?

Omega General Help / omega 2.2 auto erratic problem

Had my omega a few momths. Sometimes parked on quite a camber whilst visiting a friend. It is really hunting for gears with very little accelaration from stand still and on hill. Then after stopping for a while all is ok again, This has happened twice now. Any ideas please? before i go and get ripped off. Many thanks.
