How to fix the light in the ashtray, microswitch sometimes works and sometimes not, is there a way to get around and that the light on when the lights.

I googled a bit and found that there are three different sump to model x20xev and as I covered more than 100,000 km and I'll stop thinking about it.

Omega 1997  x20xev engine 100KW, after oil changes in engine fit 3.5 - 3.7 l GM 5W30 oil and shows maximum.
Please help and explain, because by all accounts should fit 4.5-5 l
I drive Omega 7 year and evry time same quantity of oil
My apologies because English is not my first language.
