Thank you everybody for your advice. I have now found that before starting the engine,I press the footbrake down and put the selector into neutral then I start the car everything is fine with no warning lights on display and drives perfectly. This says there is a problem with the selector indicator mechanism and as soon as time and weather allows I will be crawling underneath to find out exactly what the culprit is. Thank you....

Since driving my 2001 2.6 V6 in the Snow and slush a couple of weeks ago the warning Light for Traction Control and Electronic Control are both permanently on. Also occasionally the indicator lights for the gear selector will all light up.Are these different problems or all connected? I have hosed the wheels as I thought the TC sensors were covered in muck and salt, the problem did go away for a day but is now back! Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated as the car seems to be stuck in the wrong gear and is drinking Petrol!! Thank you

Omega General Help / Interior door panel- removal
« on: 21 December 2012, 13:43:48 »
I want to check the door locking mechanism on my drivers door.I need to remove the interior door panel. After extracting screws from the bottom of the panel, some halfway up and another in the door latch recess I still can't move it! Are there some more screws hidden somewhere or do I have to remove the Wooden trim?

Omega General Help / Heater not getting hot
« on: 09 December 2012, 11:44:08 »
I have a 2001 2.6 V6,a beauty), since the cold weather The heater does not blow hot air,the fan works but only blows cold.I have taken it to a Main Vauxhall dealer who fitted a new thermostat and replaced the seals on the Oil Cooler as it was leaking.I got it back after a week in the garage only to find its still the same! They are now suggesting that they will look at the flaps controlling the air flow as they are vacuum controlled and can't hear them moving when selected. Is this possible or should we be looking in other directions? They have mentioned it could be the Matrix is blocked but are saving that as a last resort! Please help as I am driving in a coat and wooly hat!! Bigrobfm
