Omega General Help / Re: missing post?

Could anyone please tell me where my post has gone for trying yo value my omega? Has it been moved? I can't find it, thanks
Yup, deleted.

For a value, I'd recommend Glasses or similar, or spend a week watching what others go for

There are 2 on eBay below a grand. None with the same brand new parts as mine, none with problems, none with 270k. All I was asking was enthusiasts honest opinions.

Oh right, no attempt to get around anything if I'm honest, I was just looking at getting an honest value, who better than omega enthusiasts? I was and still am going to eBay it and maybe also use piston heads. Sorry if it was thought of that way.

Omega General Help / Re: help from anyone with a 2.2 dti please?

Thanks, I'm thinking it's a solenoid that's faulty, unsure which, but it's really annoying. When I start the car it runs fine, but wastegate is pulled fully open. If I leave it to idle, the engine management light comes on. If I then set of driving with the light on, it's obviously extremely slow.... but then once in second or third the light goes off and the vacuum system fully opens the wastegate again. If driving constant speed below 60, the light comes on until I put my foot down again. Light comes on whenever I am at idle revs for 10-20 seconds or more, only coming off when I drive it. Just looking to see that the vacuum isn't supposed to open the wastegate fully then take it from there. Then maybe find out if a solenoid is magnetized as it feels like the polarity is backwards... for instance, vacuum pulls wastegate wide open, when I stand and rev on spot, the wastegate starts to close. As I ease off pedal, wastegate opens again

Has anyone experienced this problem??

can someone with a 2.2 dti please do me a favour. open your bonnet, look at the wastegate (i think it should be closed position).

Then start your engine and see if the vacuum fully opens the wastegate on start up?

Mine is doing it and im pretty sure its not meant to do it

Thanks

Omega General Help / vac system/turbo issue??
« on: 13 October 2012, 19:43:05 »
Hi all. Just looking to pick your brains if I could please. Today I changed the air filter on my omega, removed headlamps to replace 80w cheapies with osram nightbreakers(as recommended by a member on here). Replaced burnt wire in headlamps, then refitted.fitted a CD changer in boot and sub/amp.

I'm only giving a full description as I think I've knocked something somewhere. Before I did all this, engine was running fine. Now the turbo won't kick in, it just puts EML light on and restricts revs. I've checked under bonnet, cannot see anything I could have knocked. When running, the vacuum system is pulling hard on the turbo wastegate. Is this normal?

There are clearly no vac leaks, but should it pull the wastegate as soon as I turn the engine on?

Thanks.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: headlamp bulbs....
« on: 05 October 2012, 22:59:11 »
Oh right, I've never really owned Vauxhall before, mainly Peugeot, Citroen and 4x4s.

I think I've found the problem, the earth terminal is very rusty. I'm going to remove the headlamps over the weekend,  replace the wires and terminals then I'll buy the above tried and tested bulbs

Thanks for all input, I will update when I've done them

I've run 100watt bulbs and never burnt wires before, the cables are more than adequate

Yeah that's definitely the one, 80w wouldn't make them dull though, or burn the wires

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / headlamp bulbs....
« on: 03 October 2012, 21:48:21 »
Can anyone tell me what bulbs are meant to be in an omega? My headlamps are really dull. They have bulbs with 2 prongs, the wires going to bulbs are just wires with spade connectors on.

My car has previously been a taxi so a couple of cheap repairs have been done

Omega General Help / 2002 2.2 DTi accelerator pedal....
« on: 03 October 2012, 21:26:32 »
Hi all, can anybody tell me if there's a throttle cable on the omega or is it all electronic?

I'm asking as the response is very quick, neither is the car!

I am hoping to restore the car to running sweet again but would like it to move when I ask it to!

Any help appreciated
