Omega General Help / Re: knackered car...gearbox ?
« on: 29 December 2007, 09:44:25 »
I was reading about autoboxes recently and the advice regarding changing boxes after the troubles listed above was to change the torque converter as well because of the contamination inside it. Failure to do this could result in early failure of the replacement box.

I put a new bearing in my aux belt tensioner, drill out 3 rivets, pry the pully apart, tap out bearing, tap new one, in replaced rivets with countersunk screws because the heads of hex head will foul the tensioner body locktite on nuts, cost zero we use these bearings at work. you need a  6203 bearing with side seals, very common and very cheap about £5. Also available in USA and probably even cheaper. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

If the heater is working on passenger side it is going to be heater controls that need looking at.
