Omega General Help / starter motor removal Q?
« on: 10 August 2007, 21:40:21 »
posted in the newbie section as well and pasted below

Currently driving (or at least should be if it wasn't knackered) a '99 2.5V6 facelift CDX but I've been having problems since trundling through a bit of flood water a few weeks back (the infamous gloucester floods that I'm sure most of you have seen on the news and laughed at.....). The starter still works fine when it wants to but more often than not sticks a few times before eventually spinning. I've been trying to get the damn thing off tonight, I've got the bolts out, taken the solenoid wires off but there is no way in this world that there is a position where the starter will drop out. The only thing I can see that would help is removing what looks like an engine mount right by it or removing the solenoid from the starter, neither of which I want to do without somebody telling me that I have to do it to get it out.

I've got 2 wheeled transport to keep me going for the time being but I could really do with trying to sort it over the weekend cus the kids aren't to keen on walking too far!!

Oh and thanks for having me

Cheers
