8-) Hi everyone. Thanks to all of you for your most friendly welcomes to the forum, and thank you to Auto Addict for the 2.2 tech info, which is particularly appreciated. I can see this is all going to be great fun with some great people. And a great car, of course!

8-) Just thought I'd say hello to everybody as the newest of the newbys, having signed up 10 mins ago. I've just bought a lovely 2002 2.2i CD auto and hope very much it will come up to expectations. I have been running a 97 Range Rover diesel and a 98 Discovery V8i auto but the Disco has been sacrificed in favour of the Omigosh. Why? Well my wife has serious physical disabilities and can no longer get up into the Disco so, a conventional car was required. But having had Land Rovers for many years it had to have character and it had to be big to accommodate Maureen's wheelchair and other stuff we have to take, even on shopping trips. The Omega ticked all the boxes, it's a one-owner car with FSH, and we're looking forward to our life with it very much. We're both long retired, live in South-West Scotland and in a previous existence I was a policeman... but don't let that put you off. The Forum is great, one of the best I've ever come across, and I have NEVER seen so many people going out of their way to help others. Best wishes all round. - Hodplod.

;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks for that. Great isn't it. By coincidence, one of my fellow retired Job mates sent it to me yesterday. Seems it's doing the rounds on the Met's internal systems. Glad it has surfaced here also in Omegaland. Shows that the police have a sense of humour as well as good taste in being great fans of the Omega. Got any more?
