Omega General Help / 1996 Elite major problems

Hi this is my second post for the same problem. i'd like to start by just saying im not that clued up about the mecanics i know the basics thats it. i have noticed that it is also doing other weird stuff. i'm not sure about the cambelt only that it was changed 9000 miles ago not sure whether it was just the cambelt or the kit.

it has sat out side my house now for about 2 weeks. after the first few days i realised that the heaters wouldnt go off so i disconnected the battery. i reconnected today to pump up the tyre and found i dont have any power to the sun roof, stereo, hazzards or electric seats :-?
ive not tried to start it. i daren't lol. i have found about half an inch or oil in number 6 spark plug also this morning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated because it sounds a scrapper to me which is a shame because the body is perfect.


now the new stuff:
when i connect the battery the heaters come on and none of the heater controls (the digital ones) even light up the only way to turn them off is to open the back right door :o, the stereo doesn't work, the sun roof doesn't work, the hazzards dont even 'tick', the front left spark plug is full of oil and the engine just turns over it doesn't even try to pick up.


Can any one give me a clue as to whatneeds doing and how much it'll cost please?

i locked the doors (central locking) with the boot open then i put the jack back in the boot and forgot to pick the keys up before i shut it

yes rest of cars locked.
not a member of RAC or AA
and i think my car pass thing is in the glove box. :-[

I've locked the keys in the boot of my 3.0 V6 Elite.
the battery is also disconnected .

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

In the "vauxhall Inspection system" book it says it was changed at 89673 its now got 98327 on it.

hi sorry i havn't posted for a while i rung the vaux mechanic that i bought the car off and he said  "The ATFs probobly boiled". so i changed it and this seems to have cured it thanks

no i dont get any warning lights and the changes are smooth. "so get the codes read on Tech 2" sorry could you explain this please i dont undestand. thanks

The revs go a lot higher when changing between 1st, 2nd, 3rd when i press sports so i dont think so

hi i have recently bought a 1996 3.0 elite (20-10-07) as someone wrote my CDX off  :'(  it has all the power it should but theres no fourth gear i have the recipt for a new gearbox that was fitted just before i bought it.
PLEASE HELP any ideas would be apreciated thanks.

thanks for all your help people. it was the mass air flow meter that was triggering the EML and stopping the car from idleing. the fuel filter was also bloked. now i have replaced both and the car again runs fine. thanks again. stumpy451  ;D:y  ;D:y  ;D:y

if i unplug the air flow meter then it will start and idle normaly.if i plug it back in while its running  it will idle for 5 seconds then die.

thanks for all your answers
just an update I have had the fuel filter changed and it still wouldn’t run so I got a mobile mechanic to run a diagnostics and it said that the mass air flow meter problem. I asked Autosuplies and they quoted me £220! so I got one from a local vehicle dismantlers and he assured me that it was from my car but the plug is different. so I need to find one. any ideas people?
