My driver seat heating works, a bit too well, i think that there is a problem as with the setting on number 1 it is burning my butt off.

The passenger side works better from 1 to 5, is there a thermostat? i am thinking that I may swap the driver and passenger switches to see if it makes a difference?  Are these easy to remove? if not the switches, what else could I check.  I don't fancy losing my heated seat this close to winter

Hi all,

With the recent frosty weather (well it is here) I have noticed that the drivers side mirror does not defrost   The rear window and passenger side are fine. The electric adjustments work fine etc, i thought that maybe the glass had been replaced in the past with a non-defrosting type (if there is such a thing) but the mirror has the little logo on the top left.  Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong, how do I get the glass out (without breaking it) to check the connections?  Thanks in advance.

If the CARK91 you can get an adapter which fit's into the cradle, which will accept any pop port Nokia phone.

My Omega has the CARK91, i purchased the cradle of ebay (£11 if i remember right) and my Nokia 6230i just pop's in, will of course take any "Nokia pop port" Phone.

Is it possible to just replace a cdr2005 with a NCDC2013 for the multi CD function? I would have no need for the Sat Nav, would the display work or would that need to be upgraded too?

Just got a complete key (3 button type) brand new, chip and programmed here in Belfast from the the "key centre" cost £75 all in, that is 1/2 of what VX wanted?

Had similar on mine! light would stay on when started from cold and go out after 20 seconds or so, also came on during driving for short periods.  I read somewhere that (maybe here) that it indicates among other things faulty glow plugs. Anyway replaced the glow plugs (needed doing anyway) and I have not had the light come on since   (before someone says, yes it does come on before starting  )

Thanks guys,

No sign of damp inside, will check the drains and scuttle area. Pollen filter? don't know when it was last changed but now on the list to do   cubby hole empty!

The recirculation button works fine, I can hear it open and close. (and the air blasts out)

Can some confirm that the air flow should be much stronger with recirculation on, which mine is, or should it be the same as "full fan" it is just that with normal CC on and fan set to full, it is what I would call "dismal" air flow?

Will report back on findings.

No, don't use the eco, I do have the CC on and press the front screen botton, I just think that the fan is not blowing hard enough   I don't use recycle to clear the screen, it is just that if I do press it, the fan "blasts" air out?

This is for facelift owners:

I don't know if the heater fan is blowing correctly, if the car is full, wife and kids, like the other day who had got a bit wet in the rain   ops   the car started to steam up as expected, put the heater/front screen clear on to demist the screen, even after 20 minutes it had only cleared the bottom half of the screen.  I think that with the fan on full it is not blowing as hard as it should?  If I put the recycling on the fan blows as you would expect, plenty of power, but no use to demist.

The fan has always been like this, is it normal? should the fan not blow as hard as it does when recycle is on?  With the fan set at high (8 bars) it does work, but you only hear a slight noise, not the blast I would expect?

Yes the head thing does work, the range of mine is fine if approched from front right (45 degrees from drivers side) if approched from other angles the range drops, must be something to do with the position of the receiver. The battery condition of the remote will also have an effect.

Just done mine, bought a length of pipe (14") and made it up using the old pipes as a template, I did need an additional T piece as one broke as I took it off, £2.14 from VX   Avoid the canvas covered pipes as it tends to fray.

Problem Cured,  

Had changed the bleed off pipes, problem was still there  
Changed fuel filter and seal, problem was still there  
New glow plugs, problem still there  
Starter F!*&ed, New starter, problem still there  

Got my nephew (23 years old) to have a look (Not much he does not know about car engines) He said straight away about copper washers on the fuel pump  , washers replaced and problem has gone  

One happy teddy.

Well bleed off pipes changed, new glow plugs and new fuel filter with new seal and still the same problem.  We have had the car up on a lift and looked everywhere for any signs of a leak without sucess.  What's next to check?   :-/

Cheers, It has just turned 100k so I think the plugs will need doing, I had planned to do them anyway before winter.  I will let you all know how I get on, will be the weekend before I have the time.
