Omega General Help / Re: Alarm randomly going off
« on: 26 June 2013, 17:20:39 »
Thanks James. Thought diag kit was Dealers only. Will stop now and:
1: change batts anyway (found them for under £4 each)
2: saw you were LPG as well, and that made me think...my  CPU takes some time to switch off, the alarm may detect a slight voltage rise and that may trigger.....?
3: Find a friendly diag person.
ps, your web-site gives no indication of your general location! North, South, East or West!!

Omega General Help / Alarm randomly going off
« on: 26 June 2013, 14:12:01 »
I have a @02 3.2 Omega and the alarm goes off semi-randomly....most times it's about 15 mins after the lock and can be stopped by an "un-lock/lock", but also during a motorway journey, after stopping for a break I return to a mad car! The alarm is going and you cannot stop it. The Lock/un-lock has no effect. Once, It even made one chirp as I was doing 80 back on the motorway!
I have looked at the Forum and that points to the Ni-Cad batteries in the sounder....and yes, I do get occasionally a 4-chirp as I open the door (not when I set the Alarm) BUT i have opened the sounder and both 3.5v batteries are a healthy 4.2V giving over 8V in total. They can also deliver current as I can force the system to run the sounder of its internal battery.. HELP! Chris
