Therefore I wanted to know whether after having removed the stereo and the heated seat switches directly below, if the climate control panel can be slid out?
the question's still unanswered despite all these years. Does someone know the answer?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / fuse not found
« on: 02 August 2017, 09:03:55 »
Fellow omega owners, I need your collective mind to help  :'(
Got two cooling fans (outer left and inner) not working.  Engine nearly overheats. Inspecting fusebox under the bonnet found one burned out (actually, melted) fuse.

Replaced with new 30A (no idea what amperage it should be, just my guess). Fans work now.
The photo is here
https://prnt.sc/g3blpa
it's marked

The question is what amperage it should be, and more importantly what is its marking on scheme (my guess it's F52, but I'm not sure). It didn't burn out without a good reason, I suppose  :)  Requires a good investigation.

The car is 1999 with X25XE engine, one of those earliest facelifts. No schemes in TIS (it begins with 2001 cars with Y26SE/Y32SE), no schemes on paper (all I've got are old ones for before 1998). Just my luck, you know.

Please help )

Omega General Help / Re: no brake lights

i can see the stop lamp switch on the epc diagrams is it simple to remove and test?
Quite simple. It's right behind your brake pedal, hard to miss :)  Remove the cover on top on footwell first.

cruise still works.  does that mean the stop lamp switch is working?
Brake light switch has 2 pairs of contacts; one controls stop lamps, another disengages cruise control.
Why don't you try simply short-circuit these contacts on the switch plug and see what happens?

Omega General Help / Re: Speedo & Tacho Failure
« on: 15 December 2016, 16:03:13 »
I see.
Both speedo and tacho have tiny, really small plastic gears inside. Sometimes these tiny little gears fail (crack, etc), just because of old age. The important thing is that if that's the case, the speedo needle won't move when car stops. That's why I asked my question.
I've seen a man who managed to repair it himself, but he's an amatour watchmaker :)

Does speedometer needle tremble when your car doesn't move?
Also, does odometer work?

as far as I know, yes, the only difference is EEPROM. If you replace/reprogram EEPROM you can interchange these ECUs.
Oh, by the way, I think you'll need also a new immobiliser chip together with ECU.
Or, if you have CARPASS for your car, you can bind your old immo chip and new ECU.

Omega General Help / Re: Thermal switches on radiator - torque?
« on: 15 December 2016, 11:30:42 »
Thanks guys  :)  Since nobody seems to know proper torque for these sensors, the only option is sealant, I think.
Not today, though. It's too damn cold out there  :)

> Did you replace the washer?

Sure. Not original, though (JP Group or something). Original is so much expensive.
Yes, this may be the reason. Original washer maybe is made of softer copper.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of, to crack the plastic  :(

Omega General Help / Thermal switches on radiator - torque?
« on: 14 December 2016, 15:43:28 »
Hi!
Had my radiator replaced, took both thermal switches off the old radiator and put it on new one. Didn't use any sealant, my hope was that copper washer is enough. Seems like it isn't. There's small leakage on thermal switch (the one on the bottom). Not a big trouble,  but it's irritating.
The question is: what torque should I have used on them thermal switches? Couldn't find this info.
Thank you!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: a/c compressor doesn't work

> Not a great deal changed from pre-facelift to facelift for the Omega on the wiring front so the older circuit diagrams are still relevant.

Ah, but they are not. Not in my case, anyway. On pre-facelift A/C cutoff relay takes power via F15 fuse. On facelift it's F29.
I've found it out just an hour ago, thanks to Opel TIS 2000.
Anyhow my problem is solved  :)  F29 fuse  burnt out.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / a/c compressor doesn't work
« on: 09 August 2016, 19:30:45 »
Hi there, fellow omega owners.
Today is a sad day for my a/c doesn't work and we've got really warm weather around.
The fault code is:
00087 - A/C Cutoff Relay Voltage Low
Also my overhead lamps don't work anymore (not the ones that lit when forward doors open, the other two).
I've got a feeling it must be as simple as some burned fuse. But what fuse?.. Can't get circiut diagrams for my facelift Omega.
Could someone help?.. Any help would be appreciated: a copy of curcuit diagrams, an piece of advice, anything at all :)
