Problem is that the mechanic told me that he test with an ECU from a running Omega like mine, this ECU was detected by Tech2...

My seller will send me another ECU. I hope that this one will run... but I don't understand how and why the others are dead... Do you know someone who can test them ?

I called the mechanic. He tells me that the ECUs are not detected Omega.
He tries Tech2 on another Omega with automatic transmission and it works. He tries to plug my ECUs on this car and it doesn't work.
He tells me that my ECUs are out of order. I'm "jaded"... :(

The ECU is the exactly right part number.

Tech2 can't access any codes of the ECU but detect all others modules.

I'm totally lost... my ECU is a BOSCH 0281001428 JM 90 494 180.

Mecanic says me that he used Tech2 and a CAN module.

Omega General Help / Tech2 don't detect ECU
« on: 21 January 2014, 16:02:20 »
Hello,
I tried to solder a chip in my stock ECU and unfortunately, I burnt it.
So I bought two secondhand ECU (same model and numbers) but the mecanic is unable to install them. Tech2 seems to be unable to communicate with the both ECUs. One of the both was certified fully operationnal by the seller.
What's wrong ? Is the mecanic incompetent (like me when I'm trying to soldering a chip) ?

My car is a '98 Opel Omega 2,5 TD CD with automatic transmission.

Thank you for your help.

Hello everybody,
I'm Mickaël from Blois, in Loire Valley, France.
I'm the owner of an Opel Omega 2,5 TD CD with automatic transmission. This car runs good until I tried to solder a new chip in the ECU, but I'll post in tech problems for that... :-[
I'm very sorry for my poor english and expect to find answers to my problem on this forum.
In advance thank you to welcome me here.
Best regards,

Micka
