Hi Guys,
Still looking, some of the non descript ebay units look good that are made especially for the Vauxhall
double din facia, however some of the reviews are mixed, suggesting slow response to screen presses,
or cheap feel..

Wonder whether its best to stick to a known branded unit available in this country for warranty etc..
Seems to be a mine-field though, so many to choose from....

Does any one know which wire to 'cut' to keep the date on when the radio is on??

Thanks,
Dave.

Thanks for the info guys, the pictures look really good and I think your
correct about keeping the same display colour - excellent match.

Sounds like I may be able to keep the steering buttons working by buying
some sort of adaptor as ckz, or getting a stereo with steering inputs.
Looking at Mr Gav`s pictures I assume the top half of the info display works
as normal (the computer info - consumption, etc) but the bottom half stops
working. Could I ask if this reverts to time and date as though the radio is
switches off, or does this disappear too. Also I assume the clock has to be
manually adjusted for BST / GMT etc.

I`ve also been looking for a suitable unit, and found specific Vauxhall after
market stereo`s with the correct type facia on ebay - no adaptor needed.
e.g. search for model number 6526GB.
Can any one suggest suitable models from any leading manufacturers with cd
mp3, and navigation functions that will accept the steering buttons..

Thanks for the help guys.

Dave.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CDR2005 / Double din radio ???
« on: 16 August 2014, 21:45:57 »
Hi,
Has any one had experience in updating the radio in an Omega,
I currently have a CDR2005 which works perfectly fine. The car
is a 2003 2.2 CD in excellent original condition with only 29K
on the clock from new.

I`ve been looking at some of the touchscreen double din radio`s,
e.g. Pioneer SPH-DA100 as a sat nav function would be useful.
I assume I will have to purchase some sort of surround for it to
fit correctly, but I`d rather stick with the original if it will spoil
the interior look of the car, or lose some dash / steering functions.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thx, Dave.
