Newbie Welcome Area / Been a while

Another returning member since scrapping my previous one.
Now in a totally different place financially and have never been able to shift my want for an estate, having missed out on VX02 VXR (I think) when it was traded in at a Renault dealer I worked at. I couldn't sus out how to post a wanted post for a big petrol wagon, preferably manual but I'm not that fussed. Need a fun tow car for my other car that I can commute in.

Anyhoo, I'm Chris, let me know if you want to sell me a wagon 😜

But the estate (and the saloon) is a big heavy barge so you may find you do need XL.
I don't know exactly where you'll find it but try looking on the petrol cap or in one of the door shuts for a listing of what tyre sizes need which pressure and if you're lucky it will list speed and load rating. Failing that try looking in the handbook

If you have been driving around with a broken spring since January it doesn't sound like you are seeking perfection, just an MOT pass. I imagine it is a rear spring; if so it's a straightforward job. Don't jack up the differential, it may damage the mountings.

Nah it's a front one, the car cost me less than 600 so your right, I'm not looking for perfection, just something fun that will do for now but riding the pushbike to work in this weather is exhausting! Nah I'd always try and use recommended jacking points or anywhere that's not suspended and solid.

Another thing to consider, is that if your car hasn't had new top mounts/bearings/shocks/wishbones in the last 30k miles you ought to budget for them at the same time.

'Should' be okay on that as it's only done 61k, I think I just drive it harder than what it's used to. Thank you for the 'offer' but the fact it's not worth travelling is making me happier to give it a go myself.

As for geometry I have a contact at the local Protyre depot and also still know some of the guys @ Micheldever

Afternoon all,

Any southern members up for helping me fit some springs to my omega? I bought them back in January time from Minifreek and as yet been unable to coerce anyone into helping me, it's now run out of MoT and with a broken spring needs sorting ASAP.
Am able to pay in beer tokens and have most tools required.

Nothing wrong with those 2 date stamps, the missing two however couldmean the tyres weren't destined for the uk and someone somewhere has bought some shady stock?!...

The spare wheel in the boot of most of our cars is a full sized spare, just because it's not identical to the alloys doesn't make it a space saver, car manufacturers have to do a one else size fits all for spare wheels - they can't make the boot shape and space different depending get on what wheels were fitted. My spare is a 205 width as opposed to 225 width fitted to the alloys, 20mm difference is not noticeable when driving and the 50 miles/mph certainly doesn't apply as it is a standard tyre and the car is safe upto the lowest speed/load rating of the tyres fitted to the vehicle.

And gollom, rolling radius takes into account sidewall height and there won't be much in it.

I know Peugeot use adblue (is it called that? ) That's what our buses use, if anyone doesn't know it's just pig piss! Don't know about Renault but about the time I left Fiat their latest derv POS engine (multijet 2 iirc) didn't need a regeneration cycle as it injected fuel 8 times a second (I remember seeing a very fancy graph)! Very clever people that lot, if you want innovation look at Fiat (sorry for all the brackets)(ps I hated Fiat before working for them, same as Vauxhall!).

Totally different, Adblue is for NOx reduction (its Urea) and has no impact on particulate levels, its used by all manufacturers with cars/engines above a certain size (smaller units can get away with a fancy catalyst)  . All these bluemotion and bluetec cars basically have Adblue injection

And its 8 injections per cycle, this has no impact on regeneration and they still do regenerate, what it does do is reduce noise and improve power delivery 

Oh yes, the Fiat and Gm 1.3/1.9/2.0 engines are the same power plant

Yeah fiat design then sold to the others, when I worked there they were keeping the multijet 2 to themselves and it definitely did something that meant no regen cycle...

A/C is recommended every 2 years and keep using it through winter, think the anti-bac is just if it starts to smell but for the cost (£20 iirc) may as well do it once a year

No the omega has a spare, not a space saver, 99% of the time cars with alloys have a smaller steel spare wheel with tyre size that makes it near as damnit the same rolling radius, space savers are a crap idea dreamt up my marketing to improve boot space figures but melt if you don't follow the instructions (50 miles/50mph)!

As above I seem to recall trying to hunt down a 18" steel to no avail so look 17 or even 16 if the tyre size converts...
