Omega General Help / Clicking from Steering column
« on: 29 October 2007, 13:57:19 »
Hi
I'm new to this!
I have a 2.2 (y reg) Omega CDXwith high mileage (170k) but it still runs very well. (did about 1000miles last week!)
Just recently there is a clicking from the column when you turn a corner - like the clicking you get when the indicator cancels. But this is louder and you can feel the resistance throught the steering wheel. I think something inside the column (possibly part of the indicator setup) has worked loose and is iterfering with the steering.
I have Haynes manual (for the Pre face lift model - has it changed on the new one?) and it says i have to remove the airbag and the steering wheel to get at the steering column.
I think that's a bit beyond me.
Is there any other way to find out what it is without removing the airbag, s/wheel etc?
