Just reading through and dont know if you fixed the problem. I may be repeating what you already know. Isolved my problem as the water was comming in from the wiring lume passenger side in the engine bay as the water was collecting in a 'v' shaped body shell paert and travelling higher than where the loom enters the car.

This maybe what people are refering to as the 'scuttle tray'. I had gallons on 2 occasions after heavy rain. I looseneg the wiring loom gomet so that should the scuttle tray fill again it will never enter the car.

Omega General Help / Water leak only when cold

I have recently changed my 2.0 16 valve engine and althought the donor engine seems great I have a water leak which only starts a couple of hours after parking the car. It comes from the rear of the engine and very difficult to trace where from. My friend did the engine swap and it would be useful to offer any advice members have.

Did you solve the problem. I have the 2litre and it leaks when stood and cold maybe upto 3 hours without a drip then next check a small pool. Over night it losses about 4 pints
