Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Alarm going off at night

so when he says cover the connecter in leccy tape and refit the power sounder, I take it he means cover in leccy tape to make waterproof/safe and do not re connect, but refit the sounder unit to keep it in place?

we have a result! It happened again and i went under the car was the pump right at the bottom below the the air box. Never happened since sl suspension was removed but the water has shorted something. removed the fuse and it stopped instantly :-) When I have more time I will have a better look but for now sorted.

Thanks for all the comments. As always this is a great group to help people seen as I've only had the car since November (bought it of my dad who owned for 14 years)

Thanks to you all and have a great evening :-) I'll feedback any updates

Cheers

Good shout I will go and have a look at this just now  :y

I'm wondering if they have literally just unplugged it but left or tapped the connector against the socket half in to keep it safe and its been knocked back in or water is completing the circuit? I have had a look and there is a pump looking thing there gave it a good shake and knock to hopefully dislodge any water and fingers crossed been well over an hour now and nothing  :y

Will keep ya posted and thanks for the help. If anything at least I know it is nothing major or terminal now... time for a beer lol

Thanks for the help it does seem that the self levelling fuse is only self levelling but I've got the hand book so will check later if it kicks in again. Car icon with arrow up and arrow down?

Jonny,

great, makes sense. The self levelling has been removed as it has sports suspension now but would make sense that the pump is trying to put more air in. It was supposed to be disconnected but i suppose they could have not done so or if they left the wire in but not connected water could be bridging the gap?

Fuse seems to be a simple fix as if it is that then I don't need it.

Would it defo come on even if the car is off?

Thanks

Dean

Would love some answers on this.... After driving through heavy rain and floods a few days ago (no more than I would comfortably drive through) my car has started making a noise a while after I turn the car off (yes off). Sitting in my house car locked keys in my house a strange noice that sounds like a pump starts from under the airbox lower down on driver side (3.0 v6 facelift). Go out to the car turn the ignition on it stops, turn ignition off it starts as soon as I pull the key out??? Start the car then turn off and take the key out it stops all together, but only for a while.

I'm genuinely stumped, could water actually cause this even though the car is completely off, locked etc?

I do have a video but can't seem to attach videos on here.

Would love some help from all you guys :-)

Thanks

Dean

I might have a rear blind shelf, I would need to check, The switch would be a different matter..

Removing the shelf, can be a pain, if any of the rear screen bond has attached to the shelf...

If you have that would be great. I believe the switch is still working just the blind i need  :y

Thanks

cheers guys. I bought the car from my dad. He has owned for 14 years so I am now getting round to fixing a few issues (already fixed the troublesome sunroof lol) but I believe the clips have broke that pull the actual blind up, although the blind isn't now coming up at all since I got it so I think I may need to do a little more investigating  :y

cheers boys

Dean

At least the blind is down while you remove the parcel shelf. The blind on mine once failed up ... removing the shelf with the blind up is ... interesting!  ;D

Oft I can imagine. i'm only just getting into this. used to do more years ago on cars then kids etc. had this omega since november and loving it. think my old man will want it back when I'm done so trying to fix everything.

On the off chance if anyone reading this has an imscher front grille or replica I'd be very interested, appreciative  :y

Cheers

Hi all,

Has anyone got a spare and working rears unblind for the facelift omega elite? and also any advice on changing, is it easy? I understand it could be a case of removing from underneath or could this be disconnected from underneath and then just eased of of the parcel shelf from the top?

TIA

Dean
