So only a few quid cheaper than the ebay one

The seller says its all in perfect working order.
So fingers crossed.
I've already done a couple little jobs.
Scuttle blocked causing leak in through the pollen filter.
Number plate wires stripped and fuse blown.
Found the housing and the plug in the car. I think it had a flat battery at some point. They couldn't open the drivers door so wired a live off it or attempted it  to get it open lol
Thats also sorted. Appart from rattle from the exhaust on idle and a small blow its spot on tbh

i know mate, no chance am i refitting it. the cam has about half inch of play. will fail again
ive ordered a mech

new mech is on order from uk breaker. and door is currently cable tied :p

after an hour of digging around with a coat hanger this morning i got it open,
the latch mechanism is knackered.
how it opened i dont know. pure luck!
however its open and thats the main thing.
On the circled part below that cam is all lose. and thats what releases the latch when pushed
its back in its correct position in the picture as i put it back. but the part that moves it when the handles were pulled were missing that cam.

Doc. Just an idea here. What about removing the door handle.
It looks doable. 2 bolts and a rod to disconnect.
Would that give more scope?

Will ones off other model vauxhalls fit.
Or only omega?
Im going to get a replacement latch.
Save having to remove the passenger. And hopefully fihure out how to open it from that.

ok so i think the latch mech itself is knackered

both cables from both handles are operating correctly. and the central locking all works.

ive looked at the passenger side and its covered by plastic so i cant see the workings. i dont want to take it off the passenger side as i dont want to break it!
so question do any other door latches fit the Omega? and are they universal in regards to the door position on the car.
once i have the replacement part i can study that and figure out how to open the damn thing, as the other issue is i have limited visibility with the door card only partially removed.

Getting into the car is not an issue btw. Its the drivers door that doesn't open. All other 3 are fine.
How u can link the passenger door to open the drivers door im intrigued ........
