Ok Jimbob done test and got codes 59 and 19 in that order (dont know if thats significant). Also had a look for the sensor and to be honest i couldn't even find the oil filter lol.
Thanks Jimbob I should explain that when it comes to engines I'm a complete Numpty am i right in saying that when i do the paperclip test I'm looking for 1 flash followed by 9 flashes.
Good morning all I have an R reg 2.5 v6 Auto, I've had this problem where occaisionally the engine wont fire up after I've driven around and the engine is warm....i leave it for 10 mins to cool down and it works fine...Until this morning where it wouldn't start at all...breakdown guy told my there is no spark and its probably a crank sensor....anyone know where that is and probable cost.
every now and again i'd have a problem starting but it would fire up after a few goes...then it would be fine for weeks this has probably gone on for about 6 months or so :-/
Waiting till tomorrow isnt a problem the problem is knowing what is actually wrong i'm guessing a crank sensor isnt cheap is it common for them to fail.
I'm in Ashford kent and i'm not really sure if it is a crank sensor but yes i would be looking for help in locating and fitting a new one if that is the problem.
Help i've broken down engine turning over ok but not firing tried easy start in air intake called greenflag they couldnt help he reckons crank sensor or coil unit tried paperclip test got 55 and 31 any ideas
I checked again and i still got 55 followed by 4 quick flashes the reason i done test in first place is because i've broken down in kent and greenflag cant get me going reckons it might be a crank sensor would that be the 31 fault code
Hello all Just done a paperclip test and got 55 followed by 4 quick flashes and 31 can someone verify what the 55 and 4 and what no RPM signal means please.
